आपले सर्व आजार, व्याधी आणि बंधने ह्यापासून प्रभूयेशू आपल्याला मुक्त करु शकतो. त्याच्या दयेने कुणाही माणसाच्या जीवनात चमत्कार घडू शकतो. प्रभू येशूला प्रत्येक माणसाविषयी आस्था व प्रेम आहे. त्याच्या दैवी प्रेमाने तो सर्वांना त्याच्या वैभवात सहभागी करु इच्छीत आहे. आजच्या शुभवर्तमानातील दोन्ही घटनांवर चिंतन करित असताना आपण आपला प्रभूवरील विश्वास, आपले त्याच्यावरील प्रेम व भक्ती तपासून पाहू या. आपल्या प्रत्येकाला प्रभूयेशूचा गुणकारी स्पर्श व्हावा म्हणून मोठ्या विश्वासाने प्रभू येशूला शरण जाऊ या. धैर्याने त्याच्या सहवसात जाऊन आपले सर्वस्व त्याला समर्पित करु या.
पहिले वाचन :उत्पत्ती २८:१०-२२

"त्याला स्वप्न पडले त्यात त्याने असे पाहिले की, एक शिडी उभी होती आणि तिच्यावरून देवदूत चढउतार करत आहेत आणि देव बोलत होता. "
याकोब बैर-शेबा येथून हारानला जायला निघाला. तो एके जागी पोहचला असता सूर्य मावळला म्हणून तेथे रात्र घालवावी या विचाराने तेथला एक दगड उशाला घेऊन तो त्या ठिकाणी झोपला. तेव्हा त्याला स्वप्न पडले. त्यात त्याने असे पाहिले की, एक शिडी पृथ्वीवर उभी केली असून तिचा शेंडा आकाशाला लागला आहे आणि तिच्यावरून देवदूत चढउतार करत आहेत आणि पाहा, परमेश्वर त्याच्यापाशी उभा राहून त्याला म्हणाला, "मी परमेश्वर तुझा पिता आब्राहाम याचा देव आणि इसहाकचा देव आहे; ज्या भूमीवर तू झोपला आहेस ती मी तुला आणि तुझ्या संततीला देईन; तुझी संतती संख्येने धुळीच्या कणाइतकी होईल. पूर्व, पश्चिम, उत्तर आणि दक्षिण अशा चारी दिशांना तुझा विस्तार होईल आणि तुझ्या व तुझ्या संततीच्याद्वारे पृथ्वीवरील सर्व कुळे आशीर्वादित होतील. पाहा, मी तुझ्या बरोबर आहे आणि जिकडे जिकडे तू जाशील त्या सर्व ठिकाणी मी तुझे संरक्षण करीन आणि तुला या देशात परत आणीन; तुला सांगितले ते करीपर्यंत मी तुला अंतर देणार नाही.' मग याकोब झोपेतून जागा होऊन म्हणाला, “खरोखर या ठिकाणी परमेश्वर आहे, पण हे मला कळले नव्हते." तो भयभीत होऊन म्हणाला, “हे किती भयप्रद स्थल आहे! हे प्रत्यक्ष देवाचे घर, स्वर्गाचे दार आहे!" म्हणून याकोब पहाटेस उठला आणि जो दगड त्याने उशाला घेतला होता त्याचा त्याने स्मारकस्तंभ उभारून त्याला तेलाचा अभ्यंग केला आणि त्याने त्या ठिकाणाचे नाव बेथेल (देवाचे घर) असे ठेवले. पूर्वी या नगराचे नाव लूज असे होते. याकोबने एक नवस केला, "देव माझ्याबरोबर राहून ज्या वाटेने मी जात आहे तीत माझे संरक्षण करील आणि मला खावयास अन्न आणि परिधान करण्यास वस्त्र देईल आणि मी आपल्या पितृगृही सुखरूप परत येईन, तर परमेश्वर माझा देव होईल आणि हा जो दगड मी स्मारकस्तंभ म्हणून उभा केला आहे त्याचे देवाचे घर होईल."

First Reading :Genesis 28:10-22a
In those days: Jacob left Beersheba and went towards Haran. And he came to a certain place and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring. Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." And he was afraid and said, "How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven." So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up for a pillar and poured oil on the top of it. He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God, and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house.

शुभवर्तमान मत्तय ९:१८-२६

येशू योहानच्या शिष्यांबरोबर बोलत असताना कोणीएक अधिकारी येऊन त्याच्या पाया पडून म्हणाला, "माझी मुलगी नुकताच मरण पावली आहे, तरी आपण येऊन आपला हात तिच्यावर ठेवावा म्हणजे ती जिवंत होईल." तेव्हा येशू उठला आणि त्याच्यामागे आपल्या शिष्यांसह जाऊ लागला. मग पाहा, बारा वर्षे रक्तस्त्रावाने पीडलेली एक स्त्री त्याच्यामागे येऊन त्याच्या वस्त्राच्या गोंड्याला शिवली; ती आपल्या मनात म्हणत होती, "मी केवळ त्याच्या वस्त्राच्या गोंड्याला शिवले तरी बरी होईन." तेव्हा येशू मागे वळून तिला पाहून म्हणाला, "मुली, धीर धर, तुझ्या विश्वासाने तुला बरे केले आहे." आणि ती स्त्री त्याच घटकेपासून बरी झाली. मग येशू अधिकाऱ्याच्या घरात जाऊन पावा वाजवणाऱ्यांस आणि गलबला करणाऱ्या लोकसमुदायास पाहून म्हणू लागला, "वाट सोडा, कारण मुलगी मेली नाही; ती झोपेत आहे." तेव्हा ते त्याला हसू लागले. मग लोकसमुदायाला बाहेर काढल्यावर आत जाऊन त्याने मुलीच्या हाताला धरले आणि ती उठली. हे वर्तमान त्या अखिल देशात पसरले.
प्रभूचे हे शुभवर्तमान

Gospel Reading : Matthew 9:18-26)
At that time: While Jesus was speaking, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him. saying "My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." And Jesus rose and followed him, with his disciples. And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment, for she said to herself, "If I only touch his garment, I will be made well." Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, "Take heart, daughter, your faith has made you well." And instantly the woman was made well. And when Jesus came to the ruler's house and saw the flute players and the crowd making a commotion, he said, "Go away, for the girl is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him. But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. And the report of this went through all that district.

चिंतन: नम्रता' श्रद्धावान व्यक्तीचा भाव आहे. याउलट हेवा, गर्व हे अविश्वासू व्यक्तिचे प्रतिबिंब आहे. आजच्या शुभवर्तमानात प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्त दोन व्यक्तिंच्या विश्वासाची प्रशंसा करतो. हया दोन्ही व्यक्ती म्हणजेच अधिकारी व बारा वर्षे आजारी असलेली स्त्री नम्रतेने प्रभूवरील आपला विश्वास प्रकट करतात. त्याचे बक्षीस म्हणून प्रभू त्यांना आरोग्य व जीवनाची देणगी देतो. अशाच प्रकारचा अनुभव याकोबाच्या आजच्या पहिल्या वाचनात येतो. तो परमेश्वरासाठी स्मारकस्तंभउभारतो व त्या ठिकाणाचे नाव बेथेल (देवाचे घर) असे ठेवतो. परमेश्वरावर भाव ठेवल्याने परमेश्वर आपले रक्षण करतो व आपल्याला उच्चस्थळी नेतो. परमेश्वरावरील आपले प्रेम पूर्ण असावे म्हणून हया पवित्र रहस्यामध्ये प्रार्थना करूया.
प्रार्थना :हे प्रभू येशू, तुझ्यावरील माझा विश्वास व प्रेम दृढ करुन तुझ्या आज्ञा पाळण्यास मला प्रेरणा व शक्ती दे, आमेन.
