प्रभू येशूचा बाप्तिस्मा

मी तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पाण्याने केला आहे, तो तर तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पवित्र आत्म्याने करणार आहे.
I have baptised you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit.' पहिले वाचन यशया ४२:१-४.६-७

"पाहा, हा माझा सेवक आहे. त्याच्याविषयी माझा आत्मा संतुष्ट आहे."
प्रभू म्हणतो, "पाहा हा माझा सेवक याला मी आधार आहे. पाहा, हा माझा निवडलेला, याच्याविषयी माझा जीव संतुष्ट आहे. याच्याठायी मी आपला आत्मा घातला आहे. तो राष्ट्रांना न्याय प्राप्त करून देईल. तो गवगवा करणार नाही. तो आपला स्वर उंच करणार नाही. तो रस्त्यातून पुकारा करणार नाही. चेपलेला बोरू तो मोडणार नाही. मिणमिणती वात तो विझवणार नाही. तो प्रामाणिकपणे न्याय प्रस्थापित करील. पृथ्वीवर न्याय स्थापीपर्यंत तो मंदावणार नाही व भंगणार नाही. द्वीपे त्याच्या धर्मशास्त्राची प्रतीक्षा करतात.
मी परमेश्वर आहे. मी न्यायानुसार तुला बोलावले आहे. मी तुझा हात धरला आहे. तुला राखले आहे. तू लोकांना करार व राष्ट्रांना प्रकाश देणारा असे मी तुला करीन. आंधळ्याचे डोळे उघडावे, बंदिशाळेतून बंदिवानांना व अंधारात बसलेल्यांना कारागृहातून बाहेर काढावे म्हणून मी असे करीन."
First Reading :: Isaiah 42: 1-4,6-7 Here is my servant whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom my soul delights. I have sent my spirit upon him, he will bring fair judgement to the nations. He does not cry out or raise his voice, his voice is not heard in the street; he does not break the crushed reed or snuff the faltering wick. Faithfully he presents fair judgement; he will not grow faint, he will not be crushed until he has established fair judgement on earth, and the coasts and islands are waiting for his instruction. I, Yahweh, have called you in saving justice, I have grasped you by the hand and shaped you; I have made you a covenant of the people and light to the nations, to open the eyes of the blind, to free captives from prison, and those who live in darkness from the dungeon. This is the word of God

प्रतिसाद : परमेश्वर आपल्या लोकांना शांतीचे वरदान देईल.
१ अहो देवपुत्रांनो, परमेश्वराला श्रेय द्या. परमेश्वराला गौरव व सामर्थ्य यांचे श्रेय द्या. परमेश्वराला त्याच्या वैभवी नामाचे श्रेय द्या. पावित्र्याने युक्त होऊन त्याची आराधना करा.
२ परमेश्वराचा ध्वनी जलामधून उठत आहे. परमेश्वर जलाशयावर आहे. परमेश्वराचा ध्वनी प्रबल आहे. परमेश्वराचा ध्वनी प्रतापमय आहे.
३वैभवशाली परमेश्वर गर्जना करतो. त्याच्या मंदिरात महिमा ! असे ते म्हणतात. परमेश्वर जलप्रलयावर आरूढ होतो. परमेश्वर राजासनावर सर्वकाळ बसलेला आहे.

R. Lord will give peace to His People
To you, Yahweh, I cry, my rock, do not be deaf to me! If you stay silent I shall be like those who sink into oblivion.
2 Hear the sound of my prayer when I call upon you, when I raise my hands, Yahweh, towards your Holy of Holies.
3 Do not drag me away with the wicked, with evil-doers, who talk to their partners of peace with treachery in their hearts.
4 Repay them as their deeds deserve, as befits their treacherous actions; as befits their handiwork repay them, let their deserts fall back on themselves.
9 Save your people, bless your heritage, shepherd them and carry them for ever!

"नाझरेथकर येशूला परमेश्वराने पवित्र आत्म्याचा अभिषेक केला."
पेत्राने बोलायला आरंभ केला आणि तो म्हणाला, "देव पक्षपाती नाही, हे माझ्या पक्के ध्यानात आहे. तर प्रत्येक राष्ट्रात जो त्याची भीती बाळगतो व ज्याची कृत्ये नैतिक आहेत तो त्याला मान्य आहे. येशू ख्रिस्ताच्या (तोच सर्वाचा प्रभू आहे) द्वारे देवाने शांतीच्या सुवार्तेची घोषणा करताना आपले जे वचन इस्राएलच्या संततीला पाठवले ते हे. योहानने जो बाप्तिस्मा गाजवला त्यानंतर गालिलपासून प्रारंभ होऊन सर्व यहुदियांमध्ये घडलेली गोष्ट तुम्हांला तर माहीत आहे. नाझरेथकर येशूला देवाने पवित्र आत्म्याचा व सामर्थ्याचा अभिषेक केला. तो सत्कर्मे करीत व सैतानाच्या सत्तेखाली असलेल्या सर्वांना बरे करीत फिरला. कारण देव त्याच्याबरोबर होता."
हा प्रभूचा शब्द आहे.

Second Reading: Act. 10:34-38
Then Peter addressed them, 'I now really understand', he said, 'that God has no favourites, but that anybody of any nationality who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him.'God sent his word to the people of Israel, and it was to them that the good news of peace was brought by Jesus Christ -- he is the Lord of all. You know what happened all over Judaea, how Jesus of Nazareth began in Galilee, after John had been preaching baptism. God had anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and because God was with him, Jesus went about doing good and curing all who had fallen into the power of the devil.

"तू माझा प्रिय पुत्र आहेस. तुझ्याविषयी मी संतुष्ट आहे."
योहान बाप्तिस्ता घोषणा करून म्हणत असे, माझ्यापेक्षा समर्थ असा कोणी एक माझ्यामागून येत आहे. त्याच्या पायतणांचा बंद लवून सोडण्याचीदेखील माझी पात्रता नाही. मी तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पाण्याने केला आहे, तो तर तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा पवित्र आत्म्याने करणार आहे.त्या दिवसांत असे झाले की, येशू गालिलातील नाझरेथहून आला आणि लगेच पाण्यातून वर येताना, आकाश दुभंगले आहे, असे त्याला दिसले. तेव्हा आकाशातून अशी वाणी ऐकू आली की, “तू माझा पुत्र, मला परमप्रिय आहेस, तुझ्याविषयी मी संतुष्ट आहे."

Gospel Reading:
The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It is written in the prophet Isaiah: Look, I am going to send my messenger in front of you to prepare your way before you. A voice of one that cries in the desert: Prepare a way for the Lord, make his paths straight. John the Baptist was in the desert, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. All Judaea and all the people of Jerusalem made their way to him, and as they were baptised by him in the river Jordan they confessed their sins. John wore a garment of camel-skin, and he lived on locusts and wild honey. In the course of his preaching he said, 'After me is coming someone who is more powerful than me, and I am not fit to kneel down and undo the strap of his sandals. I have baptised you with water, but he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit.' It was at this time that Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptised in the Jordan by John. And at once, as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit, like a dove, descending on him. And a voice came from heaven, 'You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you.'

चिंतन: प्रभू येशू वाईटाचे साम्राज्य नष्ट करण्यासाठी ह्या जगात आला. आजच्या शुभवर्तमानात आपण पाहातो की दुष्ट आत्म्याच्या सैन्याने व्यापलेल्या माणसावर प्रभू येशूला दया आली आणि त्याने त्याला सैतानाच्या तावडीतून मुक्त केले. हे वर्तमान ऐकल्यानंतर त्या नगरातील सर्व लोक प्रभू येशूला भेटण्यासाठी आले. सैतानाच्या शक्तीविरुद्ध प्रभू येशूइतकी शक्ती आणि अधिकार कोणीही दाखवला नव्हता, म्हणून त्यांना प्रभू येशूची भीती वाटली आणि त्याने आपल्या प्रांतातून निघून जावे असे ते त्याला विनवू लागले. कदाचित त्यांना मुक्त होण्याची इच्छा नव्हती; त्यांना आपल्या व्यवसायांमध्ये अधिक रस वाटला असेल. प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्त आपणांस बंधनांमध्ये बांधून ठेवणाऱ्या आणि परमेश्वराची कृपा व प्रेम ह्यांपासून दूर नेणाऱ्या कोणत्याही शक्तीपासून मुक्त करण्यास तयार आहे. परमेश्वराचे वचन आपणांस आठवणकरून देते की कोणतीही दुष्ट शक्ती कोणालाही शांती आणि सुरक्षिततेपासून रोखू शकत नाही, जी परमेश्वर त्याचे साहाय्य मागणाऱ्यांना देत असतो.
प्रार्थना : हे जीवनाच्या प्रकाशा, प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ता, अंत:करणापासून शोध घेऊन तुझी सुवार्ता पसरविण्यास आम्हाला प्रेरणा दे, आमेन.
