माझ्यानंतर येणारा माझ्यापेक्षा श्रेष्ठ आहे. त्याची पादत्राणे वाहून न्यायची माझी लायकी नाही. तो पवित्र आत्म्याने आणि अग्नीने तुमचा बाप्तिस्मा करील. he shall baptize you in the Holy Ghost and fire.

शांती (Peace )
स्वर्गीय शांती घेऊन प्रभू येशू येत आहे.
आगमन काळांतील आज दुसरा रविवार आहे. त्याच्या राज्यात सर्वांना शांति, सुख व समाधान लाभेल. धार्मिकता, सत्यता, न्यायपरायणता, सात्विकता व परिपूर्णता ह्यांनी भरलेला समाज तो निर्माण करील..' अशी आनंददायी भविष्यावाणी आज यशया संदेष्टा करीत आहे.
योहान बाप्तिस्ता सुद्धा आपल्या सर्वांना आवाहन करीत आहे की, 'परमेश्वराचा मार्ग सिद्ध करा.' आपल्यातील पापवासना, अहंकार, स्वार्थ, आणि अशुद्धता दूर सारुन प्रभूला अपेक्षित नम्रता, प्रेम, क्षमाशिलता, परोपकार व सेवा वाढीस लावण्यासाठी आपण प्रयत्नशील बनायला हवे. आपल्या जीवनात सरलता व शुद्धता आणण्यासाठी आपण सिद्ध व्हायचे आहे. येशूच्या स्वागताची तयारी करीत असताना त्याला स्वीकारण्यासाठी जे अडथळे व उंचसखल भाग आपल्या जीवनात आहेत ते सरळ करणे आवश्यक आहे.
प्रभू येशू येईल तेव्हा सहजपणे आपण त्याला आपल्या कुटुंबात, समाजात व प्रत्येकाच्या जीवनात प्रवेश करता यावा म्हणून ख्रिस्तसभा आपल्याला आवाहन करीत आहे. प्रार्थना, उपवास, दानधर्म आणि सतकृत्ये करुन आपण प्रभूचे स्वागत करण्यासाठी सज्ज बनू या.
पहिले वाचन : यशया ११ : १-१०
वाचन : यशया या पुस्तकातून घेतलेले वाचन
"तो दुबळ्यांचा न्याय योग्य प्रकारे करील."
इशायाच्या खोडाला धुमारा फुटेल. त्याच्या मुळातून फुटलेली शाखा फळ देईल. परमेश्वराचा आत्मा, सुज्ञानाचा आणि समंजसपणाचा आत्मा, सुसंकल्पाचा आणि सामर्थ्याचा आत्मा, परमेश्वराच्या ज्ञानाचा आणि भयाचा आत्मा त्याच्यावर राहील. परमेश्वराचे भय धरण्यात त्याला आनंद वाटेल. तो डोळ्यांनी पाहील तेवढ्यावरूनच न्याय करणार नाही. कानांनी ऐकेल तेवढ्यावरून तो निर्णय देणार नाही. तर तो दुबळ्यांचा न्याय यथार्थतेने करील. पृथ्वीवरील दीनांच्या वादाचा यथार्थ निर्णय देईल. तो आपल्या मुखरूप वेताने पृथ्वीचे तारण करील. आपल्या मुखाच्या फुंकराने दुर्जनांचा संहार करील. धार्मिकता त्याचे वेष्टन आणि सत्यता त्याचा कमरबंद होईल.
लांडगा कोकराजवळ राहील, चित्ता करडाजवळ बसेल. वासरू तरुण सिंह आणि पुष्ट बैल एकत्र राहतील. लहान मूल त्यांना हाकील. गाय आणि अस्वल मित्र बनतील. त्यांचे बच्चे एकत्र बसतील. सिंह बैलाप्रमाणे कडबा खाईल. तान्हे बाळ नागाच्या बिळाजवळ खेळेल. छोटे मूल फुरशाच्या बुबुळाला हात लावील. माझ्या पवित्र डोंगरावर ती कुठेही उपद्रव देणार नाहीत किंवा नासधूस करणार नाहीत. कारण सागर जसा जलपूर्ण आहे तशी पृथ्वी परमेश्वराच्या ज्ञानाने परिपूर्ण होईल.
त्याचे निवासस्थान गौरवयुक्त होईल, त्या समयी राष्ट्रांकरिता ध्वजवत उभारलेल्या इशायाच्या धुमाऱ्याला राष्ट्रे शरण येतील.

And there shall come forth a rod out of the root of Jesse, and a flower shall rise up out of his root. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: the spirit of wisdom, and of understanding, the spirit of counsel, and of fortitude, the spirit of knowledge, and of godliness. And he shall be filled with the spirit of the fear of the Lord. He shall not judge according to the sight of the eyes, nor reprove according to the hearing of the ears. But he shall judge the poor with justice, and shall reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: land he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall slay the wicked. And justice shall be the girdle of his loins: and faith the girdle of his reins.The wolf shall dwell with the lamb: and the leopard shall lie down with the kid: the calf and the lion, and the sheep shall abide together, and a little child shall lead them. १ )हे प्रभो, राजाला आपल्या न्यायनीतीचे वरदान दे.
या राजपुत्राला आपली न्यायपरायणता दे.
म्हणजे तो तुझ्या प्रजेचा योग्य रीतीने न्यायनिवाडा करील,
तुझ्या गरीब प्रजेला न्याय देईल.
२) त्याच्या कारकिर्दीत न्यायीपणाला बहर येईल
आणि चंद्र लोप पावेपर्यंत सर्व शांती नांदेल
एका समुद्रापासून दुसऱ्या समुद्रापर्यंत,
युफ्राटीस नदीपासून पृथ्वीच्या सीमेपर्यंत
त्याचे साम्राज्य पसरेल.
३) त्याचा धावा करणाऱ्या गरिबाला तसेच गरजवंत
आणि असहाय्य लोकांनादेखील तो सोडवील.
गरीब आणि गरजवंत ह्यांच्यावर तो दया करील.
गरजवंतांच्या जिवांचे रक्षण करील.
४) त्याचे नाव चिरंजीव होवो.
सूर्यासारखे अनंत टिको त्याच्या नावाने लोक
आपणांला धन्य म्हणोत.
सर्व राष्ट्रे त्याच्या नावाला धन्यवाद देवोत.

येशू सर्व मानवांचे तारण करतो.
बंधुजनहो, शास्त्रापासून मिळणाऱ्या उत्तेजनाच्या आणि धीराच्या योगे आपण आशा धरावी म्हणून जे काही शास्त्रात पूर्वी लिहिले ते सर्व आपल्या शिक्षणाकरिता लिहिले. आता तुम्ही एकमताने आणि एकमुखाने आपल्या प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ताचा जो पिता आणि देव त्याचा गौरव करावा म्हणून धीर धरा आणि उत्तेजन देणारा देव असे करो की, ख्रिस्त येशूप्रमाणे तुम्ही परस्पर एकचित्त व्हावे.
देवाच्या गौरवाकरिता ख्रिस्ताने तुमचा आमचा स्वीकार केला तसा तुम्हीही एकमेकांचा स्वीकार करा, मी म्हणतो देवाच्या सत्याकरिता ख्रिस्त सुंता झालेल्या लोकांचा सेवक झाला; अशासाठी की, पूर्वजांना दिलेली अभिवचने त्याने निश्चित करावी आणि परराष्ट्रीयांनी त्याच्या दयेमुळे देवाचा गौरव करावा. परराष्ट्रीयांमध्ये मी तुझे स्तवन करीन आणि तुझ्या नावाचे स्तोत्र गाईन असे शास्त्रात लिहिले आहे.

Romans 15: 4-9
For what things soever were written, were written for our learning: that through patience and the comfort of the scriptures, we might have hope. Now the God of patience and of comfort grant you to be of one mind one towards another, according to Jesus Christ: That with one mind, and with one mouth, you may glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Wherefore receive one another, as Christ also hath received you unto the honour of God. For I say that Christ Jesus was minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers. But that the Gentiles are to glorify God for his mercy, as it is written: Therefore will I confess to thee, O Lord, among the Gentiles, and will sing to thy name.
