आपण देवापासून बहकतो, अनेकदा देवाला व त्याच्या योजनेला नकार देतो, तोच प्रभू परमेश्वर पुन्हा एकदा आपल्या सर्वांना त्याच्या क्रुसावरील दुःखसहन व मरणाची आठवण करून देणार आहे..
पहिले वाचन यहेज्केल ३७:२१-२८

"मी त्यांचे एक राष्ट्र बनवीन"
प्रभू परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “पाहा, इस्राएलचे वंशज ज्या राष्ट्रात गेले आहेत त्यातून मी त्यांना काढून व चोहोकडून गोळा करून स्वदेशी नेईन मी या देशात, इस्राएलच्या पर्वतांवर त्याचे एक राष्ट्र बनवीन; त्या सर्वांवर एकच राजा राज्य करील; ती यापुढे दोन निराळी राष्ट्र राहणार नाहीत, यापुढे तो विभक्त होऊन त्यांची दोन राज्ये होणार नाहीत. ते आपल्या मूर्तीनी, आपल्या तिरस्कारणीय वस्तूंनी व आपल्या कोणत्याही पातकांनी आपणाला विटाळणार नाहीत, त्यांनी आपल्या ज्या सर्व निवासस्थानी पाप केले त्या सर्वांतून त्यांना सोडवून मी शुद्ध करीन; म्हणजे ते माझे लोक व मी त्यांचा देव असे होईल. माझा सेवक दावीद त्यांच्यावर राजा होईल; त्या सर्वाचा एकच मेंढपाळ होईल. ते माझ्या निर्णयांप्रमाणे चालतील आणि माझे नियम पाळून त्याप्रमाणे वर्ततील. जो देश माझा सेवक याकोब याला मी दिला व ज्यात तुमचे पूर्वज राहत असत त्यात ते वस्ती करतील; तेथे ते व त्याचे पुत्रपौत्र सर्वकाळ वस्ती करतील; माझा सेवक दावीद त्याच्यावर सर्वकाळचा अधिपती होईल. आणखी मी त्यांच्याबरोबर शांततेचा करार करीन; तो करार सर्वकाळचा होईल; मी त्यांना वसवीन, त्याची संख्या वाढवीन आणि सर्वकाळ राहील असे माझे पवित्रस्थान त्याच्यामध्ये स्थापीन. माझा निवासमंडप त्याच्यावर राहील; मी त्यांचा देव व ते माझे लोक असे होईल. माझे पवित्रस्थान त्यांच्यामध्ये सर्वकाळ राहील. तेव्हा राष्ट्रांना समजेल की इस्राएलला पवित्र करणारा मी परमेश्वर आहे."
प्रभूचा शब्द आहे.

Ezekiel 37:21-28
Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land. And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms. They shall not defile themselves any more with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backsliding in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes. They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children shall dwell there for ever, and David my servant shall be their prince for ever. I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst for evermore. My dwelling place shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst for evermore."

प्रतिसाद स्तोत्र यिर्मया ३१:१०- १३
प्रतिसाद : परमेश्वर आपली निगा राखील.
१) अहो राष्ट्रांनो, परमेश्वराचे वचन ऐका;
दूरच्या द्वीपांत हे प्रसिद्ध करा व म्हणा,
"ज्याने इस्राएलला विखुरले तो त्यांना जमा करील
मेंढपाळ आपल्या कळपाची निगा राखतो
तशी तो त्यांची निगा राखील."
२) कारण परश्वराने इस्राएलचा उद्धार केला आहे
आणि त्याच्याहून जो बलवान त्याच्या हातून
त्यालामुक्त केले आहे. ते येऊन सियोनच्या
माथ्यावर आनंदाने गातील;
परमेश्वराच्या उपयुक्त वरदानांनी
ते प्रफुल्लित होतील.
३) त्या समयी कुमारी आनंदाने नृत्य करतील.
वृद्ध व तरुण एकत्र आनंद करतील.
मी त्याचा शोक पालटून तेथे आनंद करीन,
मी त्यांचे सांत्वन करोन, त्यांच्या दुःखानंतर
त्यांनी आनंद करावा असे मी करीन.
Psalm Jeremiah 31:10, 11-12ab, 13
The Lord will keep us, as a shepherd keeps his flock.
Hear the word of the Lord, O nations,
and declare it in the coastlands far away;
say, 'He who scattered Israel will gather him,
and will keep him as a shepherd keeps his flock. R
For the Lord has ransomed Jacob
and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him.
They shall come and sing aloud on the height of Sion,
and they shall be radiant over the goodness of the Lord. R

'देवाच्या पांगलेल्या मुलांनाही जमवून एकत्र करावे ह्याकरिता येशू मरणार आहे. मरियेकडे आलेल्या यहुद्यांनी, त्याने जे केले ते पाहिले आणि त्यांच्यापैकी पुष्कळ जणांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला; पण कित्येकांनी परुश्याकडे जाऊन येशूने काय केले ते त्यांना सांगितले. ह्यावरून मुख्य याजकांनी व परुश्यांनी सभा भरवून म्हटले "आपण काय करीत आहो? कारण तो मनुष्य पुष्कळ चिन्हे करतो. आपण त्याला असेच सोडले तर सर्व लोक त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवतील आणि रोमी लोक येऊन आपले स्थान व राष्ट्रही हिरावून घेतील," तेव्हा त्यांच्यापैकी कयफा नावाचा कोणीएक मनुष्य जो त्या वर्षी प्रमुख याजक होता, तो त्यांस म्हणाला, "तुम्हांला काहीच कळत नाही; प्रजेसाठी एका मनुष्याने मरावे आणि संबंध राष्ट्राचा नाश होऊ नये हे तुम्हांला हितावह आहे. हेहो तुम्ही लक्षात आणीत नाही." हे तर तो आपल्या मनचे बोलला नाही, तर त्या वर्षी तो प्रमुख याजक होता म्हणून त्याने संदेश दिला की, येशू त्या राष्ट्राकरिता मरणार आहे आणि केवळ त्या राष्ट्राकरिता असे नाही, तर त्याने देवाच्या पांगलेल्या मुलांनाही जमवून एकत्र करावे ह्याकरिता. ह्यावरून त्या दिवसापासून त्यांनी त्याला जिवे मारण्याचा आपसांत निश्चय केला. ह्यामुळे येशू तेव्हापासून यहुदी लोकांमध्ये उघडपणे फिरला नाही, तर तेथून रानाजवळच्या प्रांतातील एफ्राईम नावाच्या नगराला गेला आणि तेथे आपल्या शिष्यांसह राहिला. तेव्ह यहुद्यांचा वल्हांडण सण जवळ आला होता आणि पुष्कळ लोक वल्हांडणाच्या अगोदर आपणांला शुद्ध करून घ्यायला बाहेरगावांहून वर येरुशलेमला गेले. ते येशूला शोधत होते आणि मंदिरात उभे राहून एकमेकांना म्हणत होते, “तुम्हांला काय वाटते? तो सणाला मुळीच येणार नाही का ?" मुख्य याजकांनी व परुश्यांनी तर त्याला धरण्याच्या हेतूने असा हुकूम सोडला होता की, तो कोठे आहे हे कोणाला कळले तर त्याने खबर द्यावी.
प्रभूचे हे शुभवर्तमान

Gospel Reading:
John 11:45-57
At that time: Many of the Jews who had come with Mary and had seen what Jesus did, believed in him, but some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said, "What are we to do? For this man performs many signs. If we let him go on like this, everyone will believe in him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation." But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish." He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad. So from that day on they made plans to put him to death. Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with the disciples. Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went up from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. They were looking for Jesus and saying to one another as they stood in the temple, "What do you think? That he will not come to the feast at all?" Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he should let them know, so that they might arrest him.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ .
चिंतन: : उत्तम मेंढपाळ आपल्या मेंढरांकरिता प्राण देतो. प्रभू येशूने उद्गारलेले हे वचन आता पूर्ण होण्याच्या वाटेवर आहे. हे प्रभू येशूला कळून चुकले होते. आपल्या स्वतःच्या जिवापेक्षा परमेश्वराची निवडलेली प्रजा वाचवणे हे योग्य व रास्त आहे. त्यांच्या मुक्तीसाठी- तारणासाठी येशूला नेमून पाठविण्यात आले होते. येशू पुष्कळ चिन्हे करतो, लोक त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवतात आणि त्याचे अनुयायी होऊ लागले आहेत. ह्या भीतीपोटी ते म्हणत होते, 'आपण येशूला असेच सोडले तर सर्व लोक येशूवर विश्वास ठेवतील आणि रोमी लोक येऊन आपले स्थान व राष्ट्रही हिरावून घेतील.' ऐहिक जगातील सत्ता, अधिकार, राज्य, आणि शासन परमेश्वरासमोर मूल्यहीन आहेत. जो आपल्या अंतःकरणात परमेश्वराला प्रथम स्थान देतो, त्यामध्ये येशू निवासासाठी येतो. म्हणून यहेज्केलला वचन प्राप्त झाले ते असे, 'मी त्यांचा देव व ते माझे लोक असे होईल. माझे पवित्र स्थान त्यांच्यामध्ये सर्वकाळ राहील तेव्हा राष्ट्रांना समजेल की इस्रायेलला पवित्र करणारा मी परमेश्वर आहे.'
प्रार्थना : हे प्रभू येशू, आमच्या उद्धारका, पश्चात्तापी अंतःकरणाने तुजसमोर येण्यास पात्र बनावे म्हणून आम्हाला कृपा दे, आमेन.
