“मुली, मी तुला सांगतो; ऊठ" आणि तात्काळ ती मुलगी ऊठून चालू लागली,
"Little girl, I say to you, arise." And immediately the girl got up and began walking
"तुझ्या विश्वासाने तुला बरे केले आहे. "
'देवाने मानव अविनाशी असा निर्माण केला. आणि त्याला आपल्या शाश्वत प्रतिरुपाप्रमाणे बनविले.' अविनाशी निर्माण केलेल्या माणसाच जीवन सुखदायी, आनंदमय असणे व ते पीडारहित असावे अशीच परमेश्वराची इच्छा आहे. अविनाशी आत्मा जो माणसांमध्ये आहे त्यावर देवाची अधिसत्ता आहे. मात्र सैतानाच्या द्वेषामुळे मानवाला पीडा, वेदना, दुःख व आजार सहन करावे लागतात. अशा बिकट प्रसंगी माणसाचा म्हणजेच आपला देवावरील विश्वास दृढ असणे गरजेचे आहे.
आजच्या शुभवर्तमानात रक्त पीडित स्त्री आणि आजारी मृतावस्थेत असलेली याईराची मुलगी ह्यांची दोन उदाहरणे प्रभूने आपल्या समोर ठेवली आहेत. रक्तस्त्रावाने पीडित असलेल्या महिलेने प्रभू येशूवरील आपला विश्वास अंत:करणापासून बळकट बनविला आणि तो विश्वास तिने आपल्या कृतिद्वारे प्रकट केला. बारा वर्षापासून त्रासदायक असलेली तिची वेदना पूर्ण बरी झाली. देवावरील विश्वासात सामर्थ्य, कृपा आणि आजारमुक्ती आहे. तर आजारी मुलिचा बाप याईर ह्याची श्रद्धा प्रभू येशूने धीर देऊन बळकट केली आणि त्याच्या श्रद्धेमुळे त्याची मुलगी वाचली.देवावरील आपल्या श्रद्धेमुळे आपण दुसऱ्याच्या जीवनात परिवर्तन घडवून आणू शकतो.
देवाला सर्वांनाच आनंदी व सुखी ठेवायचे आहे. तो जीवनदाता व तारणदाता आहे. आपण आज आपल्या येशूवरील व देवावरील विश्वासावर चिंतन करु या आणि त्याला सर्वस्वी शरण जाऊ या.

"सैतानाच्या मत्सरामुळे या जगात मरणाने प्रवेश केला.”
मरण परमेश्वराने निर्माण केले नाही. जिवंताच्या नाशाने त्याला आनंद होत नाही. कारण सर्व वस्तू अस्तित्वात राहाव्यात म्हणून त्याने त्या निर्माण केल्या आहेत. जगातल्या वस्तू लाभदायक आहेत, त्यांच्यात विनाशक विष नाही आणि मृत्यूलोकांची सत्ता या इहलोकी नाही.
धर्माचरण करणारा कधी मरत नाही. परमेश्वराने मनुष्याला अमर बनवले. त्याला त्याने आपल्या स्वभावाच्या प्रतिमेप्रमाणे केले आहे. परंतु सैतानाच्या मत्सराने या जगात मरणाने प्रवेश केला आणि जे त्याच्या पक्षाचे आहेत ते मृत्यूची शिकार होतात.

First Reading :Wisdom 1:13-15; 2:23-24
God did not make death, and he does not delight in the death of the living. For he created all things that they might exist, and the origins of the world are wholesome, and there is no destructive poison in them; and the dominion of Hades is not on earth. For righteousness is immortal. For God created mankind for incorruption and made him in the image of his own character, but through the devil's envy death entered the world, and those who belong to his party experience it.

"दुसऱ्यांचा भार हलका करण्याकरिता प्रस्तुतकाळी तुमच्या विपुलतेतून त्यांची गरज भागावी."
विश्वास, भाषा, ज्ञान, प्रत्येक गोष्टीची आस्था आणि आम्हावरील तुमची प्रीती ह्या सर्वांमध्ये जसे तुम्ही समृद्ध आहा, तसे कृपेच्या ह्या कार्यातही असावे.
कारण आपल्या प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ताची कृपा तुम्हाला माहीत आहे. तो धनवान असता तुम्हांकरिता गरीब झाला, अशा हेतूने की, त्याच्या गरीब होण्यामुळे तुम्ही धनवान व्हावे.
दुसऱ्यांचा भार हलका करण्यासाठी तुमच्यावर भार घालावा असे नाही, तर हे समानतेने व्हावे, म्हणजे प्रस्तुतकाळी तुमच्या विपुलतेतून त्यांची गरज भागावी आणि पुढे त्यांच्या विपुलतेतून तुमची गरज भागावी, अशी ही समानता व्हावी. “ज्याने फार गोळा केले होते त्याचे अधिक भरले नाही; तसेच ज्याने थोडे गोळा केले होते त्याचे काही कमी भरले नाही,” असे शास्त्रात लिहिले आहे.
Second reading : 2 Corinthians 8:7.9.13-15
Brethren: As you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you see that you excel in this act of grace also. For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. For I do not mean that others should be eased and you burdened, but that as a matter of fairness your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness. As it is written, "Whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack."

(मग येशू मचव्यात बसून पलीकडे परत गेल्यावर त्याच्याजवळ लोकांचा मोठा समुदाय जमला. तो समुद्राजवळ होता. तेव्हा याईर नावाचा सभास्थानाचा एक अधिकारी आला आणि त्याला पाहून त्याच्या पाया पडला. त्याने आग्रहाने त्याला विनवणी केली, “माझी लहान मुलगी मरायला टेकली आहे. तिने बरे होऊन जगावे म्हणून आपण येऊन तिच्यावर हात ठेवा." मग तो त्याच्याबरोबर गेला.तेव्हा पुष्कळ लोक त्याच्यामागून चालले होते आणि त्याच्याभोवती गर्दी करीत होते) तेथे रक्तस्त्रावाने बारा वर्षे पीडलेली एक स्त्री होती. तिने बऱ्याच वैद्यांच्या हातून बरे व्हावे म्हणून पुष्कळ हाल सोसून आपल्याजवळ होते नव्हते ते सर्व खर्चून टाकले होते, तरी तिला काही गुण न येता तिचा रोग बळावला होता. येशूविषयीच्या गोष्टी ऐकून ती त्या गर्दीत शिरली आणि त्याच्यामागे येऊन त्याच्या कपड्याला शिवली. कारण म्हणत होती, “केवळ ह्याच्या वस्त्रांना शिवले तरी मी बरी होईन.” तेव्हा लगेच तिचा रक्ताचा झरा सुकून गेला आणि आपण त्या पीडेपासून बरे झालो आहो असा तिला शरीरात अनुभव आला. आपणामधून शक्ती निघाली आहे हे येशूने आपल्याठायी लागलेच ओळखले आणि गर्दीमध्ये वळून म्हटले, "माझ्या कपड्यांना कोण शिवले ?" त्याचे शिष्य त्याला म्हणाले, “लोकसमुदाय आपल्याभोवती गर्दी करीत आहे, हे आपण पाहता, तरी आपण म्हणता, मला कोण शिवले ?” मग जिने हे केले होते तिला पहावयास त्याने सभोवार पाहिले. तेव्हा ती स्त्री, आपल्या बाबतीत जे काही घडले ते जाणून भीत भीत आणि कापत कापत त्याच्याकडे आली आणि त्याच्या पाया पडून तिने त्याला खराखुरा वृत्तांत सांगितला. तो तिला म्हणाला, “मुली, तुझ्या विश्वासाने तुला बरे केले आहे, शांतीने जा आणि तुझ्या पीडेपासून मुक्त हो.” तो हे बोलत आहे इतक्यात (सभास्थानाच्या अधिकाऱ्याच्या घराकडून काही माणसे येऊन त्याला म्हणाली, “आपली मुलगी मरण पावली, आता गुरुजींना त्रास कशाला देता ?” परंतु ये त्याच्या बोलण्याकडे लक्ष न देता, सभास्थानाच्या अधिकाऱ्याला म्हणाला, “भिऊ नकोस, विश्वास मात्र धर," त्याने पेत्र, याकोब आणि याकोबचा भाऊ योहान ह्यांच्याविषयी कोणालाही आपणाबरोबर येऊ दिले नाही. मग ते सभास्थानाच्या अधिकाऱ्याच्या घराजवळ आल्यावर ओक्साबोक्सी रडणारे आणि आकांत करणारे ह्यांचा गोंधळ चाललेला त्याने पाहिला. तो आत जाऊन त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही का गोंधळ करता आणि रडता? मुलगी मेली नाही, झोपेत आहे.” तेव्हा ते त्याला हसू लागले. पण त्याने त्या सर्वांना बाहेर घालवून दिले आणि मुलीचे आईबाप आणि आपल्याबरोबरची माणसे ह्यांना घेऊन मुलगी होती तेथे तो आत गेला. नंतर मुलीच्या हाताला धरून तो म्हणाला, “तलिथा कुम्" ह्याचा अर्थ, “मुली, मी तुला सांगतो; ऊठ" आणि तात्काळ ती मुलगी ऊठून चालू लागली, कारण ती बारा वर्षाची होती. तेव्हा ते अत्यंत आश्चर्यचकीत झाले. हे कोणाला कळता कामा नये, अशी त्याने त्यांना निक्षून आज्ञा केली आणि तिला खावयाला देण्यास सांगितले.)

Gospel Reading: Mark 5:21-43
At that time: When Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the other side of the sea of Galilee, a great crowd gathered about him, and he was beside the sea. Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feet and implored him earnestly, saying, "My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live." And he went with him. And a great crowd followed him and thronged about him. And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, "If I touch even his garments, I will be made well." And immediately the flow of blood dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, immediately turned about in the crowd and said, "Who touched my garments?" And his disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, 'Who touched me?" And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him and told him the whole truth. And he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease." While he was still speaking, there came from the ruler's house some who said, "Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the Teacher any further?" But overhearing what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, "Do not fear, only believe." And he allowed no one to follow him except Peter and James and John the brother of James. They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. And when he had entered, he said to them, "Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but sleeping." And they laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the child's father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was. Taking her by the hand he said to her, "Talitha cumi," which means, "Little girl, I say to you, arise." And immediately the girl got up and began walking (for she was twelve years of age), and they were immediately overcome with amazement. And he strictly charged them that no one should know this, and told them to give her something to eat.

चिंतन:देवाने जाणूनबुजून आपल्याला त्याच्यासोबत सार्वकालिक जीवनासाठी तयार केले. मानवतेने बंड केले. तेव्हाही देवाने आपल्याला मरणापर्यंत सोडले नाही. येशूद्वारे आपणांस वाचवले. देवाने मृत्यू निर्माण केला नाही किंवा त्याने कोणतेही विनाशकारी ठेवले नाही. पण सैतानाचा मत्सर शब्दांत बंडखोरी करतो. परिणामी मृत्यूची शिक्षा आणि देवापासून अनंतकाळचे प्रभुत्व दाखवले. जेव्हा त्याने जैरसच्या मुलीला पुन्हा जीवंत केले. तो लोकांच्या वधस्तंभावर मरत असताना ही विरोधाभावाने, त्यांच्या मृत्यूनंतर येशूने पूनर्संचित केले. सर्व मानवांनी देवामध्ये जीवन जगावे. जीवनावर उठून त्याने मृत्युच्या दलालाला काढून टाकले. जेव्हा आपले नश्वर जीवन संपेल तेव्हा येशू आपल्यालाही मरणातून उठवेल.
