प्रभूने त्याला म्हटले, 'पृथ्वीवर जे काही तू मोकळे करशील ते स्वर्गात मोकळे केले जाईल.' प्रभू येशूच्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे हाच अधिकार ख्रिस्तसभेने प्रत्येक धर्मगुरुला दिला आहे. आपल्या पापांबद्दल प्रायश्चित संस्काराद्वारे क्षमा मिळविण्यासाठी आपण धर्मगुरुंकडे गेले पाहिजे. प्रभू येशूला आपण जर आपल्या जीवनाचा स्वामी व तारणारा म्हणून स्वीकारले आहे तर त्याच्या आज्ञांचे पालन करणे महत्वाचे आहे.
प्रभूच्या वचनाचा अर्थ ध्यानात घेऊन आपण सुद्धा आपल्या अपराध्यांना क्षमा करावी. कोणालाही बंधनात न ठेवता सर्वासाठी स्वर्गाचा दरवाजा उघडला | जावा म्हणून आज सर्वांसाठी प्रार्थना करु या.

“लोकांसाठी खडकातून पाणी काढ.'
पहिल्या महिन्यात इस्राएल लोकांची सर्व मंडळी त्सीन रानात आली, त्यांनी कादेश येथे मुक्काम केला; येथे मिर्याम मरण पावली आणि तेथे त्यांनी तिला मूठमाती दिली. तेथे मंडळीला पाणी न मिळाल्यामुळे ते मोशे आणि अहरोन ह्यांच्याविरुद्ध एकत्र झाले. ते मोशेशी भांडू लागले आणि म्हणाले, “परमेश्वरासमोर आमचे भाऊबंद मेले तेव्हाच आम्ही मेलो असतो तर बरे झाले असते. तुम्ही परमेश्वराची मंडळी ह्या रानात कशाला आणली ? आम्ही आणि आमच्या जनावरांनी मरावे म्हणून? इजिप्त देश सोडायला लावून आम्हांला ह्या भिकार ठिकाणी का आणलेस? येथे धान्य, अंजीर, द्राक्षवेल अथवा डाळिंबे तर नाहीतच, पण प्यावयाला पाणी सुद्धा नाही." तेव्हा मोशे आणि अहरोन हे मंडळीपुढून निघून दर्शनमंडपाच्या दारापाशी पालथे पडले आणि परमेश्वराचे तेज त्यांच्या दृष्टीस पडले. परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, “आपली काठी घे आणि तू व तुझा भाऊ अहरोन मिळून मंडळी जमा करा आणि त्यांच्यादेखत तुम्ही त्या खडकाला आज्ञा करा म्हणजे त्यातून पाणी निघेल; ह्याप्रमाणे त्यांच्यासाठी खडकातून पाणी काढ आणि ह्या मंडळीला आणि त्यांच्या जनावरांना पाज." परमेश्वराने आज्ञा केल्याप्रमाणे मोशेने त्यांच्यासमोरून ती काठी आणली.
मोशे आणि अहरोन ह्यांनी मंडळीला खडकासमोर जमा केले आणि त्यांना मोशे म्हणाला, "अहो, बंडखोरांनो, ऐका; तुमच्यासाठी आम्ही ह्या खडकातून पाणी काढावे का?" मग मोशेने हात उचलून त्या खडकावर दोनदा काठी मारली, तेव्हा त्यातून विपुल पाणी वाहू लागले आणि ती मंडळी आणि त्यांची जनावरे पाणी प्याली. ह्यावर परमेश्वराने मोशे आणिअहरोन ह्यांना म्हटले, “तुम्ही माझ्यावर विश्वास ठेवला नाही आणि इस्राएल लोकांसमक्ष माझे पावित्र्य प्रकट केले नाही, म्हणून ह्या मंडळीला जो देश मी दिला आहे त्या देशात ह्यांना नेणे तुमच्या हातून घडणार नाही.” त्या झऱ्याचे नाव मरिबा (म्हणजे भांडण) असे पडले, कारण इस्राएल लोक परमेश्वराशी त्या ठिकाणी भांडले आणि त्यांच्यामध्ये परमेश्वराने आपले पावित्र्य प्रकट केले.

Numbers 20: 1-13
And the children of Israel, and all the multitude came into the desert of Sin, in the first month: and the people abode in Cades. And Mary died there, and was buried in the same place.And the people wanting water, came together against Moses and Aaron: And making a sedition, they said: Would God we had perished among our brethren before the Lord. Why have you brought out the church of the Lord into the wilderness, that both we and our cattle should die? Why have you made us come up out of Egypt, and have brought us into this wretched place which cannot be sowed, nor bringeth forth figs, nor vines, nor pomegranates, neither is there any water to drink? And Moses and Aaron leaving the multitude, went into the tabernacle of the covenant, and fell flat upon the ground, and cried to the Lord, and said: O Lord God, hear the cry of this people, and open to them thy treasure, a fountain of living water, that being satisfied, they may cease to murmur. And the glory of the Lord appeared over them. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: Take the rod, and assemble the people together, thou and Aaron thy brother, and speak to the rock before them, and it shall yield waters. And when thou hast brought forth water out of the rock, all the multitude and their cattle shall drink. Moses therefore took the rod, which was before the Lord, as he had commanded him, And having gathered together the multitude before the rock, he said to them: Hear, ye rebellious and incredulous: Can we bring you forth water out of this rock? And when Moses had lifted up his hand, and struck the rock twice with the rod, there came forth water in great abundance, so that the people and their cattle drank, And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron: Because you have not believed me, to sanctify me before the children of Israel, you shall not bring these people into the land, which I will give them. This is the Water of contradiction, where the children of Israel strove with words against the Lord, and he was sanctified in them.

१) याहो या, आपण परमेश्वराचा जयजयकार करू;

उपकारस्मरण करीत आपण त्याच्यापुढे जाऊ,

"तू पेत्र आहेस; मी तुला स्वर्गराज्याच्या किल्ल्या देईन."
फिलिप्पीच्या कैसरीयाकडल्या भागात गेल्यावर येशूने आपल्या शिष्यांना विचारले, “मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लोक कोण म्हणून म्हणतात ?” ते म्हणाले, “कित्येक बाप्तिस्मा करणारा योहान, कित्येक एलिया, कित्येक यिमर्या, किंवा संदेष्ट्यातील कोणी एक, असे म्हणतात." तो त्यांना म्हणाला, "पण तुम्ही मला कोण म्हणून म्हणता?" शिमोन पेत्रने उत्तर दिले, “आपण ख्रिस्त, जिवंत देवाचे पुत्र आहा.” येशूने त्याला म्हटले, "शिमोन बार्योना, धन्य तुझी! कारण मांस आणि रक्त यांनी नव्हे तर माझ्या स्वर्गातील पित्याने हे तुला प्रकट केले आहे. आणखी मी तुला सांगतो, तू पेत्र आहेस आणि ह्या खडकावर मी आपली मंडळी रचीन आणि तिच्यापुढे अधोलोकाच्या द्वारांचे काहीच चालणार नाही. मी तुला स्वर्गराज्याच्या किल्ल्या देईन आणि पृथ्वीवर जे काही तू बांधशील ते स्वर्गात बांधले जाईल आणि पृथ्वीवर जे काही तू मोकळे करशील ते स्वर्गात मोकळे केले जाईल.” तेव्हा त्याने शिष्यांना निक्षून सांगितले की, मी ख्रिस्त आहे हे कोणालाही सांगू नका.
तेव्हापासून येशू आपला शिष्यांना सांगू लागला की, मी येरुशलेमला जाऊन वडील, मुख्य याजक, आणि शास्त्री ह्यांच्याकडून पुष्कळ दु:खे सोसावी, जिवे मारले जावे आणि तिसऱ्या दिवशी उठवले जावे ह्याचे अगत्य आहे. तेव्हा पेत्र त्याला जवळ घेऊन त्याला निषेध करून म्हणाला, “प्रभुजी, आपणावर दया असो, असे आपल्याला होणारच नाही. परंतु तो वळून पेत्रला म्हणाला, “अरे सैताना, माझ्यापुढून निघून जा; तू मला अडखळण आहेस; कारण देवाच्या गोष्टींकडे तुझे लक्ष नाही, तर माणसांच्या गोष्टींकडे आहे."

Matthew 16: 13-23
And Jesus came into the quarters of Caesarea Philippi: and he asked his disciples, saying: Whom do men say that the Son of man is? But they said: Some John the Baptist, and other some Elias, and others Jeremias, or one of the prophets. Jesus saith to them: But whom do you say that I am? Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God.And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ. From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the ancients and scribes and chief priests, and be put to death, and the third day rise again. And Peter taking him, began to rebuke him, saying: Lord, be it far from thee, this shall not be unto thee. Who turning, said to Peter: Go behind me, Satan, thou art a scandal unto me: because thou savourest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.

चिंतन:
पहिल्या वाचनातील परमेश्वराचे वचन व कार्यवाही आपले लक्ष वेधते. तहानलेल्या इस्राएली लोकांना पाणी पुरविण्यासाठी परमेश्वर मोशेला सांगतो; परंतु मोशे पुरेसा विश्वास दाखवत नाही, एकदा आपटण्याऐवजी त्याने काठी दोनदा आपटली सबब, एक 'प्रतिबंधक' (deterrent) म्हणून मोशे 'आश्वासित' प्रदेशात जाऊ शकणार नाही (तो केवळ दुरून 'आश्वासित प्रदेश' पाहील) असे त्याला सांगतो (अर्थात रुपांतरावेळी मोशे 'आश्वासित' तारणाऱ्याबरोबर असतो हे वास्तव परमेश्वरी दयेविषयी खूप काही सांगून जाते)... प्रभू येशूला स्वतःची ओळख होती; परंतु आपले शिष्य त्याला किती ओळखतात त्याविषयी खातरजमा करण्यासाठी येशू विचारतो. इतर शिष्य वरकरणी उत्तरे देतात मात्र पीटरच्या प्रतिसादाला श्रद्धेचा गाभा आहे. त्याबद्दल येशू त्याला शाबासकी देतो, परमपित्यामुळे हा साक्षात्कार त्याला झालाय असे जाहीर करतो व त्याच्यावर ख्रिस्तसभेचे नेतृत्व सोपवितो. मात्र तोच पीटर येशूच्या ध्येयाआड येऊ पाहतो, येशूला दुःखसहनापासून दूर ठेऊ इच्छितो तेव्हा येशू त्याला "मागे हट, सैताना" असे म्हणत त्याला सावध करतो. अशाप्रकारे, 'शिष्यत्व व आत्म-त्याग' ह्यांच्यातील अतूट नाते येशू स्पष्ट करतो... दुःख व संकटे टाळण्यासाठी मी दैवी योजनांपासून पळवाटा तर शोधत नाही ना?
प्रार्थना : हे प्रभू येशू, तुझ्या सामर्थ्याने व शक्तीने आम्हा सर्वांची सर्व प्रकारच्या सैतानी बंधनातून मुक्तता कर, आमेन.
