तेव्हा त्यांचा त्याला कळवळा आला आणि त्यांच्यातील दुखणेकऱ्यांस त्याने बरे केले.

चिंतन : एखाद्या गोष्टीचा सार्वकालिक जीवनासाठी मला काय लाभ होणार असा प्रश्न आपण सतत आपल्या मनाला विचारला पाहिजे. - संत वॉल्थेऊफ --

पहिले वाचन : यिर्मया २८:१-१७

वाचन : यिर्मया या पुस्तकातून घेतलेले वाचन 

“हनन्या, परमेश्वराने तुला पाठवले नाही, तू या लोकांना लबाडीवर भरवसा ठेवायला लावले."

त्याच वर्षी यहुदाचा राजा सिदुकीया याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या आरंभी चौथ्या वर्षाच्या पाचव्या महिन्यात गिबोनकर संदेष्टा हनन्या बिन अज्जूर ह्याने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात याजकांसमोर आणि सर्व लोकांसमोर मला असे सांगितले की, “सेनाधीश परमेश्वर इस्राएलचा देव असे म्हणतो : मी बाबेलच्या राजाचे जू मोडून टाकले आहे. बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर याने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरातली जी पात्रे या स्थलातून घेऊन बाबेल येथे नेली ती सर्व दोन वर्षाच्या आत मी या स्थळी परत आणीन. यहुदाचा राजा यखन्या बिन यहोयाकीम आणि बाबेल येथे पकडून नेलेले यहुदाचे सर्व लोक यांना मी या ठिकाणी परत आणीन, मी बाबेलच्या राजाचे जू मोडून टाकीन असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.”

तेव्हा जे याजक आणि जे सर्व लोक परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात उभे होते त्यांच्यासमक्ष यिर्मया संदेष्टा हनन्या संदेष्ट्यांला म्हणाला, “आमेन! परमेश्वर असे करो, परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरातली पात्रे आणि बंदिवासातले सर्व लोक बाबेलहून या स्थळी परत आणण्याविषयी जी वचने तू संदेशरूपाने सांगितली त्याप्रमाणे परमेश्वर करो. मात्र जे वचन मी तुझ्या कानी आणि सर्व लोकांच्या कानी पाडतो ते ऐक. माझ्या आणि तुझ्यापूर्वी जे संदेष्टे प्राचीन काळापासून होऊन गेले त्यांनी, अनेक देश आणि मोठी राज्ये यांवर लढाई, अरिष्ट आणि मरी ही येतील असा त्याविरुद्ध संदेश दिला. कोणी संदेष्टा शांतीचा संदेश देतो तेव्हा त्या संदेष्ट्याचे वचन प्रत्ययास आले म्हणजे समजावे की, खरोखर परमेश्वराने त्याला पाठवले आहे.' 

तेव्हा हनन्याने यिर्मया संदेष्ट्याच्या मानेवर असलेले जोखड काढून मोडले आणि तो सर्व लोकांसमक्ष म्हणाला, “परमेश्वर म्हणतो: याप्रमाणे बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर याचे जू मी पुऱ्या दोन वर्षांच्या आत सर्व राष्ट्रांच्या मानेवरून उतरून मोडून टाकीन.” मग यिर्मया संदेष्टा आपल्या वाटेने गेला.

यिर्मया संदेष्ट्यांच्या मानेवरून जोखड काढून हनन्या संदेष्ट्याने मोडल्यावर यिर्मयाला परमेश्वराचे वचन प्राप्त झाले ते असे: “जा, हनन्याला सांग की, परमेश्वर म्हणतो : तू लाकडी जोखडे मोडून टाकली पण त्यांच्याऐवजी लोखंडी जोखडे मी करीन. कारण सेनाधीश परमेश्वर इस्राएलचा देव म्हणतो : या सर्व राष्ट्रांनी बाबेलचा राजा नबुखद्नेस्सर याची सेवा करावी म्हणून मी त्यांच्या मानेवर लोखंडी जू ठेवले आहे; त्यांना त्याची सेवा करावी लागेल, मी त्याला वनातले पशूही दिले आहेत.” मग यिर्मया संदेष्टा हनन्या संदेष्टयाला म्हणाला, “हनन्या, आता हे ऐक; परमेश्वराने तुला पाठवले नाही; तू या लोकांना लबाडीवर भरवसा ठेवायला लावले." ह्याकरिता परमेश्वर म्हणतो, मी तुला भूपृष्ठावरून काढून टाकीन. तू परमेश्वराविरूद्ध फितुरीचे भाषण केले म्हणून या तू वर्षी तू खरोखर मरशील.

त्याप्रमाणे त्याच वर्षी सातव्या महिन्यात हनन्या संदेष्टा मेला.

प्रभूचा शब्द आहे

First Reading :

Jeremiah 28:1-17

In that same year, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fifth month of the fourth year, Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet from Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of the Lord, in the presence of the priests and all the people, saying, "Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. Within two years I will bring back to this place all the vessels of the Lord's house, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place and carried to Babylon. I will also bring back to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the exiles from Judah who went to Babylon, declares the Lord, for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon." Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to Hananiah the prophet in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord, and the prophet Jeremiah said, "Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord make the words that you have prophesied come true, and bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the exiles. Yet hear now this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people. The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms. As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes to pass, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet." Then the prophet Hananiah took the yoke-bars from the neck of Jeremiah the prophet and broke them. And Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, "Thus says the Lord: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all the nations within two years." But Jeremiah the prophet went his way. Sometime after the prophet Hananiah had broken the yoke-bars from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: "Go, tell Hananiah, 'Thus says the Lord: You have broken wooden bars, but you have made in their place bars of iron. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put upon the neck of all these nations an iron yoke to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they shall serve him, for I have given to him even the beasts of the field." And Jeremiah the prophet said to the prophet Hananiah, "Listen, Hananiah, the Lord has not sent you, and you have made this people trust in a lie. Therefore thus says the Lord: 'Behold, I will remove you from the face of the earth. This year you shall die, because you have uttered rebellion against the Lord." In that same year, in the seventh month, the prophet Hananiah died.

१. )असत्याचा मार्ग माझ्यापासून दूर कर; 

कृपाळू होऊन तुझे शास्त्र मला दे. 

तू आपले सत्यवचन माझ्या मुखातून 

सर्वदा नाहीसे होऊ देऊ नकोस. 

कारण तुझ्या वचनावर माझा भरवसा आहे.

२) तुझे भय धरणारे माझ्याकडे पाहोत, 

म्हणजे त्यांना तुझे निर्बंध कळतील. 

मी लज्जित होऊ नये म्हणून माझे चित्त 

तुझ्या नियमांकडे एकनिष्ठपणे लागू दे,

३) दुर्जन माझा नाश करायला टपले आहेत;

 तरी मी तुझे निर्बंध ध्यानात धरीन. 

तुझ्या निर्णयांपासून मी ढळलो नाही; 

कारण तू मला शिकवले आहेस.

Teach me your statutes, O Lord.

Keep me from the way of falsehood; 

grant me mercy by your law. 

Never take the word of truth from my mouth,

for I hope in your decrees. R

that I may not be put to shame.

Though the wicked lie in wait to destroy me,

शुभवर्तमान  मत्तय १४ : २२-३६

वाचक :  मत्तयलिखित शुभवर्तमानातून घेतलेले वाचन 

"प्रभो, आपण असाल तर पाण्यावरून आपणाकडे येण्यास मला सांगा."

“मी लोकसमुदायांना निरोप देत आहे तो तुम्ही तारवात बसून माझ्यापुढे पलीकडे जा." असे सांगून येशूने लागलेच शिष्यांना लावून दिले. मग लोकसमुदायांना निरोप दिल्यावर तो प्रार्थना करायला डोंगरावर एकान्ती गेला आणि रात्रभर तो तेथे एकटा होता. इकडे वारा तोंडचा असल्यामुळे किनाऱ्यापासून बऱ्याच अंतरावर तारू लाटांनी हैराण झालेले होते. तेव्हा रात्रीच्या चवथ्या प्रहरी तो समुद्रावरून चालत त्यांच्याकडे आला. शिष्य त्याला समुद्रावरून चालताना पाहून घाबरून गेले आणि म्हणाले, “भूत आहे.” आणि ते भिऊन ओरडले. परंतु येशू त्यांना लगेच म्हणाला, “धीर धरा, मी आहे; भिऊ नका.”

तेव्हा पेत्रने उत्तर दिले, “प्रभुजी, आपण असाल तर पाण्यावरून आपणाकडे येण्यास मला सांगा.” त्याने म्हटले, “ये.” तेव्हा पेत्र येशूकडे जाण्यासाठी तारवातून उतरून पाण्यावरून चालू लागला; परंतु वारा पाहून तो भ्याला आणि बुडू लागला असता ओरडून म्हणाला, “प्रभो, मला वाचवा.” येशूने तत्क्षणी हात पुढे करून त्याला धरले आणि म्हटले, “अरे अल्पविश्वासी, तू संशय का धरलास?” मग ते तू तारवात चढल्यावर वारा पडला. तेव्हा जे तारवात होते ते त्याच्या पाया पडून म्हणाले, “आपण खरोखर देवाचे पुत्र आहा." 

नंतर ते पलीकडे जाऊन गनेसरेतच्या भागात गेले आणि तेथल्या लोकांनी त्याला ओळखून आपल्या आसपासच्या सर्व प्रातांत माणसे पाठवून सर्व दुखणाइतांना त्याच्याकडे आणले आणि केवळ आपल्या वस्त्राच्या गोंड्यास आम्हांला स्पर्श करू द्या, अशी त्यांनी त्याला विनंती केली; तेव्हा जितक्यांनी त्याला विनंती केली; आणि जितक्यांनी त्याला स्पर्श केला तितके बरे झाले.

प्रभूचे हे शुभवर्तमान

सर्व : हे ख्रिस्ता  तुझी स्तुती असो.

Gospel Reading :

: Matthew 14: 22-36

And forthwith Jesus obliged his disciples to go up into the boat, and to go before him over the water, till he dismissed the people. And having dismissed the multitude, he went into a mountain alone to pray. And when it was evening, he was there alone. But the boat in the midst of the sea was tossed with the waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them walking upon the sea. And they seeing him walk upon the sea, were troubled, saying: It is an apparition. And they cried out for fear. And immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying: Be of good heart: it is I, fear ye not. And Peter making answer, said: Lord, if it be thou, bid me come to thee upon the waters. And he said: Come. And Peter going down out of the boat, walked upon the water to come to Jesus.

 But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretching forth his hand took hold of him, and said to him: O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt? And when they were come up into the boat, the wind ceased. And they that were in the boat came and adored him, saying: Indeed thou art the Son of God. And having passed the water, they came into the country of Genesar. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent into all that country, and brought to him all that were diseased. And they besought him that they might touch but the hem of his garment. And as many as touched, were made whole.

This is the Gospel of the Lord

 चिंतन: 

परमेश्वराच्या योजना ह्या आपल्या दुःखाच्या नाहीत तर कल्याणकारी आहेत हा संदेश संदेष्टा यिर्मया आजच्या पहिल्या वाचनात आपल्याला देत आहे. देवाकडे आपल्या प्रत्येकाच्या हिताच्या अधिक मोठ्या, धाडसी व सुंदर योजना आहेत ज्याची आपण कल्पनाही करू शकत नाही. केवळ त्याच्या सामर्थ्यावर व कृपेवर आपला विश्वास हवा. आजचे शुभवर्तमान ह्याची साक्ष देत आहे. भर समुद्रात उठलेल्या वादळावर आरुढ होऊन प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्त शिष्यांपर्यंत चालत जातो. भयभीत झालेल्या शिष्यांना त्यांच्यासोबत असल्याची खात्री देतो. त्याच्या शक्ती व सामर्थ्याचा पुरावा म्हणून पेत्राला पाण्यावरून चालण्याची विशेष कृपा देतो. ज्यावेळी पेत्राने येशूवर विश्वास ठेवला तेव्हा तो काही पाऊले पाण्यावरून चालू शकला. मात्र ज्या क्षणी त्याचा संशय बळावला व विश्वास डळमळीत झाला त्याक्षणी तो पाण्यात बुडू लागला. शुभवर्तमानातील ही घटना आपल्या श्रद्धा जीवनातील एक महत्त्वाची बाब अधोरेखित करते. जीवनात येशूवर लक्ष केंद्रित करणे विश्वासाठी शक्ती प्रकट करते; तर बुडणे संशयाच्या परिणामाचे चित्रण सादर करते. तसेच, हेही आठवण करून देते की जीवनात परिस्थिती कितीही वादळी व बिकट असली तरी परमेश्वरावरील विश्वासाने आपण त्यावर मात करू शकतो, भवसागरातही तरुन जाऊ शकतो.

प्रार्थना : हे प्रभू येशू, तुझ्या सहवासाचा अनुभव घेण्यास व सर्वस्वी तुजवर  अवलंबून राहण्यास कृपा दे, आमेन.
