पहिले वाचन : यशया ११ :१-१०
वाचन : यशया या पुस्तकातून घेतलेले वाचन
"परमेश्वराचा आत्मा त्याच्यावर राहील."
इशायाच्या खोडाला धुमारा फुटेल. त्याच्या मुळातून फुटलेली शाखा फळ देईल. परमेश्वराचा आत्मा, सुज्ञानाचा आणि समंजसपणाचा आत्मा, सुसंकल्पाचा आणि सामर्थ्याचा आत्मा, परमेश्वराच्या ज्ञानाचा आणि भयाचा आत्मा त्याच्यावर राहील. परमेश्वराचे आज्ञापालन त्याला आनंददायक वाटेल. तो डोळ्यांनी पाहील तेवढ्यावरूनच न्याय करणार नाही. कानांनी ऐकेल तेवढ्यावरूनच तो निर्णय देणार नाही. तो दुबळ्यांचा न्याय यथार्थतेने करील. पृथ्वीवरील दीनांच्या वादाचा यथार्थ निर्णय करील. तो आपल्या मुखरूप वेताने पृथ्वीला ताडण करील. आपल्या मुखाच्या फुंकरीने दुर्जनांचा संहार करील. धार्मिकता त्याचे वेष्टन आणि सत्यता त्याचा कमरबंद होईल.
लांडगा कोकराजवळ राहील, चित्ता करडाजवळ बसेल. वासरू आणि सिंहाचे पिल्लू एकत्र राहतील. त्यांना लहान मूल वळील. गाय आणि अस्वल मित्र बनतील. त्यांचे बच्चे एकत्र बसतील. सिंह बैलाप्रमाणे कडबा खाईल. तान्हे बाळ नागाच्या बिळाजवळ खेळेल. छोटे मूल फुरशाच्या बुबुळाला हात लावील. माझ्या सगळ्या पवित्र डोंगरावर ती उपद्रव देणार नाहीत आणि नासधूस करणार नाहीत. कारण सागर जसा जलपूर्ण आहे तशी परमेश्वराच्या ज्ञानाने पृथ्वी परिपूर्ण होईल. त्या समयी असे होईल की राष्ट्रांकरिता ध्वजवत उभारलेल्या इशायाच्या धुमाऱ्याला राष्ट्रे शरण येतील. त्याचे निवासस्थान गौरवयुक्त होईल.

First Reading :Isaiah 11:1-10
On that day: There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spint of the Lord shall est upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. And his delight shall be in the fear of the Lord He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears heat, but with righteousness he shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall strike the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips he shall kill the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the best of his loins. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them. The cow and the bear shall graze, their young shall lie down together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play over the hole of the cobra, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the adder's den. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples-of him shall the nations inquire, and his resting-place shall be glorious

प्रतिसाद स्तोत्र ७२:१-२, ७- ८,१२-१३,१७
प्रतिसाद : त्याच्या कारकिर्दीत न्यायीपणाला बहर येईल.
१) हे प्रभो, राजाला आपल्या न्यायनीतीचे वरदान दे.
या राजपुत्राला आपली न्यायपरायणता दे,
म्हणजे तो तुझ्या प्रजेचा योग्यरीतीने न्यायनिवाडा करील.
तुझ्या गरीब प्रजेला न्याय देईल.
२) त्याच्या कारकिर्दीत न्यायीपणाला बहर येईल
आणि चंद्र लोप पावेपर्यंत, सर्वत्र शांती नांदेल.
एका समुद्रापासून दुसऱ्या समुद्रापर्यंत,
युफ्राटीस नदीपासून पृथ्वीच्या सीमेपर्यंत त्याचे साम्राज्य पसरेल.
३)त्याचा धावा करणाऱ्या गरिबाला तसेच गरजवंत
आणि असहाय्य लोकांनादेखील तो सोडवील.
गरीब आणि गरजवंत ह्यांच्यावर तो दया करील.
गरजवंतांच्या जिवांचे तो रक्षण करील.
४) त्याचे नाव चिरंजीव होवो, सूर्यासारखे अनंत टिको.
त्याच्या नावाने लोक आपल्याला धन्य म्हणोत
सर्व राष्ट्रे त्याच्या नावाला धन्यवाद देवोत.
Psalm 72:1-2, 7-8, 12-13, 17
In his days shall justice flourish, and great peace forever.
O God, give your judgment to the king,
to a king's son your justice,
that he may judge your people in justice,
and your poor in right judgment. R
In his days shall justice flourish,
and great peace till the moon is no more.
He shall rule from sea to sea,
from the River to the bounds of the earth R
For he shall save the needy when they cry,
the poor, and those who are helpless.
He will have pity on the weak and the needy,
and save the lives of the needy.

“येशू पवित्र आत्म्याच्या प्रेरणेने प्रार्थना करतो."
येशू पवित्र आत्म्याने प्रभावित होऊन प्रार्थना करीत म्हणाला, “हे पित्या, स्वर्गाच्या आणि पृथ्वीच्या प्रभो, मी तुझे स्तवन करतो. कारण ज्ञानी आणि विचारवंत ह्यांच्यापासून ह्या गोष्टी गुप्त ठेवून त्या तू लहान मुलांना प्रकट केल्या आहेत. होय, पित्या, कारण तुला असेच योग्य दिसेल. माझ्या पित्याने सर्व काही माझ्या स्वाधीन केले आहे. पुत्र कोण आहे हे पित्यावाचून कोणाला ठाऊक नाही आणि पिता कोण आहे हे पुत्रावाचून कोणाला ठाऊक नाही.
मग शिष्यांकडे वळून तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्ही जे पाहत आहा ते पाहणारे डोळे धन्य होत. मी तुम्हांला सांगतो, तुम्ही जे पाहत आहात ते पाहण्याची पुष्कळ संदेष्ट्यांनी आणि राजांनी इच्छा बाळगली तरी त्यांना पाहायला मिळाले नाही आणि जे तुम्ही ऐकत आहात ते ऐकण्याची इच्छा बाळगली तरी त्यांना ऐकायला मिळाले नाही.”

Luke 10:21-24
At that hour: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." Then turning to the disciples he said privately, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it."

चिंतन:देवाने आपले प्रकटीकरण सामान्य लोकांना केले आणि तो मानवी ज्ञान जमेस धरत नाही यासाठी येशूने देवाला धन्यवाद दिले. येशू याठिकाणी कबुली देतो की, हे सर्व ज्ञान त्याला पित्यापासून प्राप्त झाले. पिता व पुत्र यांच्यामध्ये एक परस्पर जिव्हाळ्याचा अनुबंध आहे म्हणून पुत्रच लोकांना पित्याची ओळख करून देतो अशी कबुली येशू देत आहे. बुद्धी आणि बुद्धीमत्ता ही देवाकडून मिळालेली असते. देणारा हा देव असतो. संसारीक जगात काही
माणसं भौतिक रहस्याच्या मागे एवढी असतात की त्यांच्याकडे आध्यात्मिक गोष्टीविषयी ज्ञान मिळविण्यास रस नसतो. किंवा ते आध्यात्मिक गोष्टीकडे दुर्लक्ष करण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात. देवाच्या गोष्टीसाठी त्याच्याकडे फारच कमी वेळ असतो. कधीकधी ते ज्ञानाने इतके फुलून जातात की ते आध्यात्मिक गोष्टीचा तिरस्कार करतात. आपल्यामध्ये लहान मुलांसारखे साधेपणा, निर्मळ मन, देवावर सर्वकाही अवलंबून राहण्याची वृत्ती दिसते का? की आपल्यात स्वतःच्या ज्ञानाबद्दल अभिमान व गर्व आहे ?
प्रार्थना: हे प्रभू येशू, आम्हाला तुझे दर्शन घडविल्याबद्दल आणि दिलेल्या कृपादानांबद्दल तुला धन्यावाद देतो, आमेन.
