प्रभू येशूने आपला मृत्यू व त्यानंतरचे पुनरुत्थान ह्याविषयीचे भाकित आपल्या शिष्यांना सांगितले. प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ताचे वधस्तंभावरील मरण हे अखिल मानव जातीच्या तारणसाठी समर्पित केलेला यज्ञ बळी आहे. पुनरुत्थानामुळेच ख्रिस्ताचे दैवत्व प्रकट झाले. पुनरुत्थानामुळेच विश्वासणाऱ्यांची श्रद्धा बळकट झाली. पुनरुत्थानामुळेच प्रभू येशूने सार्वकालिक जीवनाचा मार्ग सिद्ध केला. मात्र प्रभू येशू सर्वांचा न्याय करण्यासाठी मेघावर आसनारुढहोऊन पुन्हा येणार असल्याचे भाकित आज आपल्याला पहिल्या वाचनात सांगण्यात आले आहे. म्हणूनच आपण सर्वदा तयार असले पाहिजे.
आपण आपल्या जीवनात पुनरुत्थित प्रभूला स्वीकारु या आणि सार्वकालिक जीवनासाठी तयारी करु या.

"परमेश्वराच्या गौरवाचे दर्शन हे असे होते."
(यहोयाखीन राजाच्या बंदिवासाच्या पाचव्या वर्षी) त्या महिन्यात पाचव्या दिवशी खास्द्यांच्या देशात खबार नदीच्या तिरी बुजीचा पुत्र यहेज्केल याजक याला परमेश्वराचे वचन स्पष्टपणे प्राप्त झाले, तेथे परमेश्वराचा वरदहस्त त्याच्यावर आला.
मी पाहिले तो उत्तरेकडून तुफानाचा वारा सुटला, तेव्हा एक विशाल मेघ येत असून त्यामध्ये लपेटलेला एक अग्निगोल होता, त्याभोवती प्रभा फाकली असून अग्नीच्या मध्यभागातून तृणमण्यासारखे तेज झळकत होते. त्याच्या मध्यभागी चार प्राण्यांच्या आकृतीसारखे काही नजरेस पडले. दिसण्यात ते मनुष्याकृती होते.
ते चालत असता मला त्यांच्या पंखांचा आवाज ऐकू आला. तो महाजलाशयांच्या आवाजासारखा, सर्वसमर्थाच्या वाणीसारखा होता. लष्कराच्या गजबजीप्रमाणे तो मोठा होता. ते उभे राहत तेव्हा आपले पंख खाली सोडत.
त्यांच्या डोक्यांवर असलेल्या चांदव्यावर नीलमण्याच्या सिंहासनासारखे काही दिसत होते आणि त्या सिंहासनावर पुरुष असल्याचा भास होत होता. त्याच्या ठायी सर्वत्र तृणमण्याच्या तेजासारखा अग्नीचा भास मला झाला. त्याच्या कमरेपासून वर आणि त्याच्या कमरेपासून खाली अग्नीचा भास मला झाला आणि त्यांच्याभोवती प्रभा चमकत होती. पावसाच्या दिवशी मेघात दिसणाऱ्या धनुष्यांप्रमाणे त्यांच्याभोवती प्रभा फाकलेली मला दिसली, परमेश्वराच्या गौरवाचे हे दर्शन होते. मी ते पाहून उघडा पडलो आणि कोणा बोलणाऱ्याची वाणी माझ्या कानी आली.
प्रभूचा शब्द आहे.

First Reading :Ezekiel 1:2-5, 24-28c
On the fifth day of the month it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin), the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Chebar canal, and the hand of the Lord was upon him there. As I looked, behold, a stormy wind of the north, and a great cloud, with brightness round it, and fire flashing forth came out continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming metal. And from the mischt of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance they had a human likeness. And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army When they stood still, they let down their wings. And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. When they stood still, they let down their wings. And above the expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire, and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with a human appearance. And upwards from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all round. And downwards from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round him. Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all round. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face.

प्रतिसाद : तुझ्या गौरवाने स्वर्ग आणि पृथ्वी भरलेली आहे.
१) परमेश्वराचे स्तवन करा,
आकाशातून परमेश्वराचे स्तवन करा,
ऊर्ध्वलोकी त्याचे स्तवन करा,
त्याच्या सर्व सैन्यांनो, त्याचे स्तवन करा.
२) पृथ्वीवरील राजे आणि सर्व प्रजा,
अधिपती आणि पृथ्वीवरील सर्व न्यायाधीश,
कुमार आणि कुमारी, वृद्ध आणि तरुण त्याचे स्तवन करोत.
३ )ही सगळी परमेश्वराच्या नावाने स्तवन करोत,
कारण केवळ त्याचेच नाव उच्च आहे.

इस्राएलच्या संततीला स्तुतिपात्र आहे.

Psalm 148:1-2, 11-14
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights.
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his hosts. R
Kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all judges of the earth,
young men and maidens as well,

शुभवर्तमान मत्तय १७ : २२-२७
वाचक : मत्तयलिखित पवित्र शुभवर्तमानातून घेतलेले वाचन
"मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला जिवे मारतील आणि तिसऱ्या दिवशी तो उठवला जाईल."
शिष्य गालीलात एकत्र जमले असताना येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, मनुष्याचा पुत्र लोकांच्या हाती धरून दिला जाणार आहे, ते त्याला जिवे मारतील आणि तिसऱ्या दिवशी तो उठवला जाईल. तेव्हा ते फार खिन्न झाले.
नंतर ते कफर्णहूमात आल्यावर मंदिरपट्टीचे नाणे वसूल करणारे पेत्रकडे येऊन म्हणाले, तुमचा गुरू मंदिराच्या पट्टीचा नाणे देत नाही काय? त्याने म्हटले, हो, देतात, मग पेत्र घरात आल्यावर तो बोलण्याच्या अगोदर येशू म्हणाला, शिमोन, तुला काय वाटते? पृथ्वीवरील राजे जकात किंवा पट्टी कोणापासून घेतात? स्वतःच्या मुलांपासून की परक्यांपासून? परक्यांपासून, असे त्याने म्हटल्यावर येशू त्याला म्हणाला, तर मुले मोकळी आहेत. तथापि आपण त्यांना अडथळा आणू नये म्हणून तू जाऊन समुद्रात गळ टाक आणि पहिल्याने वर येईल तो मासा धरून त्याचे तोंड उघड म्हणजे तुला दोन शेकेलचे नाणे सापडेल, ते घेऊन माझ्याबद्दल आणि तुझ्याबद्दल त्यांना दे.

Gospel Reading: Matthew 17:22-27
At that time: As the disciples were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and he will be raised on the third day." And they were greatly distressed. When they came to Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax went up to Peter and said, "Does your teacher not pay the tax?" He said, "Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or tax? From their sons or from others?" And when he said, "From others", Jesus said to him, "Then the sons are free. However, not to give offence to them, go to the lake and cast a hook and take the first fish that comes up, and when you open its mouth you will find a shekel. Take that and give it to them for me and for yourself."
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ .
चिंतन: मंदिराची व्यवस्थितरित्या देखभाल करता यावी, वेळोवेळी डागडुजी करता यावी म्हणून सर्व यहुदी पुरुषांनी मंदिराचा कर भरावा असा नियम होता. त्या नियमाप्रमाणे येशूने तो कर भरला. त्याने नियम मोडला नाही. येशू हा देवाचा पुत्र होता. सर्वांचा अधिपती होता. मंदिरात जाऊन तो लोकांना शिक्षण देत असे. मंदिराचा कर भरण्यास तो बांधील नव्हता; तरी त्याने कर भरला आणि नियमाचे पालन केले. येशूने आपल्याला एकच नियम दिला आहे, प्रेमाचा. जसे मी तुम्हांवर प्रेम केले तसे इतरांवर करा. येशूने आपणावर निःस्वार्थी प्रेम केले आणि आपल्याला निःस्वार्थी प्रेमाचा मंत्र दिला, नियम दिला. येशूची आपणाकडून एकच अपेक्षा आहे की, आपण आपल्या आचरणाने, शब्दांनी आणि कृतींनी येशूच्या प्रेमाचा नियम पाळावा. आपण ख्रिस्ताचे अनुयायी या नात्याने त्याच्या प्रेमाचा नियम पाळण्यास हयगय करतो का ?
प्रार्थना : हे प्रभू येशू, तुझ्या पुनरुत्थानाचे सहभागीदार बनण्यास आम्हाला कृपा दे, आमेन.
