"मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लोकांच्या हाती धरून देण्यात येणार आहे,

the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

संत वेन्सेस्लॉस

• राजा, रक्तसाक्षी (९०७-९२९)

बोहेमिया (झेकोस्लाव्हाकिया) येथे लुडमिला नावाची एक साध्वी स्त्री राहात होती. तिच्यामध्ये अतिपवित्र साक्रामेंताविषयी नितांत आदर व भक्तिभाव होता. तिने आपला नातू वेन्सेस्लॉस ह्या राजपुत्रामध्ये खऱ्या ख्रिस्ती धर्माविषयी आवड व तळमळ उत्पन्न केली. परंतु त्याचे ख्रिस्ती वडील मरण पावल्यानंतर त्याच्या आईने पुन्हा एकदा मूर्तिपूजेला प्रोत्साहन द्यावयास सुरुवात केली. तिने प्रथम जर्मन मिशनऱ्यांना आपल्या राज्याबाहेर हाकलून दिले. तरुण राजपुत्र वेन्सेस्लॉस ह्याच्या हातून राजसत्ता हिसकावून घेतली आणि लुडमिला हिचा गळा दाबून खून केला.

अशा क्रूर स्त्रीच्या राज्यकारभाराला लोकांकडून कडवा विरोध झाला. त्यांनी राजपुत्र वेन्सेस्लॉस ह्याला पाठिंबा देऊन त्याच्या आईच्या हातून राजसत्ता हस्तगत केली. राज्यपदावर येताच राजा वेन्सेस्लॉस ह्यांनी जर्मन धर्मगुरूंना पुन्हा आपल्या राज्यात ख्रिस्ती धर्माचा प्रसार करण्यासाठी बोलाविले. त्यांना भरपूर प्रोत्साहन दिले व बोहेमियाचा धार्मिक, नैतिक आणि सांस्कृतिक दर्जा उंचावला. त्याला हृदयाची कोमलता, धैर्य व उत्साह ह्यांची अनमोल अशी देणगी देवाकडून मिळालेली होती.

सम्राट ओटो पहिला ह्यांच्याकडून त्याला 'बोहेमियाचा राजा' हे पद मिळाले होते. परंतु बऱ्याचशा सरदारांनी त्याच्या राजकीय धोरणांना विरोध केला व त्याचा फायदा त्याच्या आईने उठविला. तिने वेन्सेस्लॉसला सिंहासनावरून बाजूला सारून त्याच्या जागी आपला दुसरा मुलगा बोलेस्लाव ह्याला बसविले.

दररोज अतिपवित्र साक्रामेंतासमोर गुडघे टेकून प्रार्थना करणे ही वेन्सेस्लॉस ह्याची सवय सर्वांना परिचित होती. एकदा तो असाच आल्तबुझलाव चर्चमधून प्रार्थना करून बाहेर पडत असताना त्याच्या भावाने त्याला चर्चच्या उंबरठ्यावरच ठार मारले.

संत वेन्सेस्लॉस हा बोहेमियाचा आश्रयदाता संत मानला जातो.

पहिले वाचन : उपदेशक  ११:९-१२:८

वाचन :उपदेशक या पुस्तकातून घेतलेले वाचन

“आपल्या तारुण्याच्या दिवसांत आपल्या निर्माणकर्त्याला आठव, कारण पाहा, माती पूर्ववत मातीला मिळेल आणि देवाने दिलेला आत्मा त्याच्याकडे परत जाईल."

हे तरुणा, आपल्या तारुण्यात आनंद कर, तुझ्या तारुण्याच्या दिवसांत तुझे हृदय तुला उल्हास देवो, तू मनाला वाटेल त्या मार्गाने आणि नजरेला येईल तसा चाल, पण ह्या सर्वाबद्दल देव तुला जाब विचारील हे तुझ्या लक्षात असू दे. म्हणून आपल्या मनातील नैराश्य दूर कर आणि आपला देह उपद्रवापासून राख, कारण कुमारावस्था आणि जवानी ही व्यर्थ आहेत.

आपल्या तारुण्याच्या दिवसांत आपल्या निर्माणकर्त्याला आठव. पाहा, अनिष्ट दिवस येत आहेत आणि अशी वर्षे जवळ येत आहेत की, त्यात मला काही सुख नाही असे तू म्हणशील. त्या समयी सूर्य, प्रकाश, चंद्र आणि तारे अंधुक होतील आणि पावसानंतर अभ्रे पुन्हा येतील. त्याकाळी घराचे रखवालदार कापतील, बळकट पुरुष वाकतील, दळणाऱ्या थोड्या उरल्यामुळे त्यांचे काम बंद पडेल. खिडक्यांतून पाहाणाऱ्या अंध होतील. जात्याचा आवाज मंद झाला म्हणजे बाहेरील दारे मिटतील, पक्ष्यांच्या शब्दाने देखील त्याच्या निद्रेचा भंग होईल, सर्व गायनस्वर मंदावतील. ते चढावाला भीतील, रस्ता धोक्यांनी भरला आहे असे त्यांना वाटेल, बदाम फुलेल, टोळसुद्धा जड असा वाटेल, वासना निमेल कारण मनुष्य आपल्या अनंतकालिक निजधामाला चालला आहे आणि ऊर बडवून रडणारे गल्ल्यागल्ल्यांतून फिरतील. मग चांदीचा दोर तुटेल, सोन्याचा कटोरा फुटेल, झऱ्याजवळ घडा फुटेल, आडावरचा रहाट मोडेल. तेव्हा माती पूर्ववत मातीला मिळेल आणि देवाने दिलेला आत्मा त्याच्याकडे परत जाईल. व्यर्थ हो व्यर्थ! उपदेशक म्हणतो, सर्व काही व्यर्थ!

हा प्रभूचा शब्द आहे

Rejoice therefore, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart be in that which is good in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: and know that for all these God will bring thee into judgment. Remove anger from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh. For youth and pleasure are vain. Remember thy Creator in the days of thy youth, before the time of affliction come, and the years draw nigh of which thou shalt say: They please me not: Before the sun, and the light, and the moon, and the stars be darkened, and the clouds return after the rain: When the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall stagger, and the grinders shall be idle in a small number, and they that look through the holes shall be darkened: And they shall shut the doors in the street, when the grinder’s voice shall be low, and they shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of music shall grow deaf. And they shall fear high things, and they shall be afraid in the way, the almond tree shall flourish, the locust shall be made fat, and the caper tree shall be destroyed: because man shall go into the house of his eternity, and the mourners shall go round about in the street. Before the silver cord be broken, and the golden fillet shrink back, and the pitcher be crushed at the fountain, and the wheel be broken upon the cistern, And the dust return into its earth, from whence it was, and the spirit return to God, who gave it. Vanity of vanities, said Ecclesiastes, and all things are vanity.

प्रतिसाद :  प्रभो, तू पिढ्यान्पिढ्या आम्हांला निवासस्थान आहेस.

१) तू मनुष्याला पुन्हा मातीला मिळवतोस, 

आणि म्हणतोस, अहो मानवांनो, परत जा. 

कारण तुझ्या दृष्टीने सहस्त्र वर्षे कालच्या

 गेलेल्या दिवसासारखी, रात्रीच्या प्रहरासारखी आहेत.

२) तू पुराप्रमाणे मानवांना घेऊन जातोस, 

तू निद्रेप्रमाणे क्षणिक आहेत, 

सकाळी उगवणाऱ्या गवताप्रमाणे ते आहेत. 

सकाळी ते तरारून वाढते, 

संध्याकाळी ते कापल्यावर वाळून जाते.

३) आमचे आयुष्य मोजके दिवस आहे 

हे आम्हाला शिकव म्हणजे आम्ही सुज्ञ होऊ. 

हे परमेश्वरा, परत फीर, किती वेळ लावशील ? 

तू आपल्या सेवकांवर करुणा कर.

४) तू आपल्या दयेने आम्हांला प्रभातीच तृप्त कर, 

म्हणजे आम्ही हर्षभरित होऊन 

आमचे सर्व दिवस आनंदात घालवू,

 परमेश्वर जो आमचा देव त्याचा प्रसाद आमच्यावर होवो, 

आमच्या हातचे काम सिद्धीस ने.

शुभवर्तमान  लूक९:४३ब-४५

वाचक :   लूकलिखित  पवित्र शुभवर्तमानातून घेतलेले वाचन 

"मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लोकांच्या हाती धरून देण्यात येणार आहे, या गोष्टींविषयी त्याला विचारायला ते भीत होते. "

येशूने केलेल्या सर्व कृत्यांवरून सर्व लोक आश्चर्य करत असता तो आपल्या शिष्यांना म्हणाला, तुम्ही ह्या गोष्टी नीट लक्षात ठेवा, कारण मनुष्याच्या पुत्राला लोकांच्या हाती धरून देण्यात येणार आहे. ही गोष्ट त्यांना समजली नाही. ती त्यांना समजू नये म्हणून त्यांच्यापासून ती गुप्त ठेवण्यात आली होती आणि ह्या गोष्टींविषयी त्याला विचारायला ते भीत होते.

प्रभूचे हे शुभवर्तमान

सर्व : हे ख्रिस्ता  तुझी स्तुती असो.

Gospel Reading :  Luke 9: 43b-45

All were astonished at the mighty power of God. But while all wondered at all the things he did, he said to his disciples: Lay you up in your hearts these words, for it shall come to pass, that the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men. But they understood not this word; and it was hid from them, so that they perceived it not. And they were afraid to ask him concerning this word.

This is the Gospel of the Lord 

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ .

चिंतन :

सुवार्तिक लूकने प्रभू येशूच्या दुःखसहन - यातना याविषयी केलेले भाकित प्रभूच्या शिष्यांना स्वीकारणे कठीण जाते. त्यांनी प्रभूविषयी जी संकल्पना रचलेली होती ती निराळी होती. त्याच्या मतानुसार प्रभू हा गौरवशाली, वैभवाने येणारा असा आहे. इते शिष्यांना येशूचे मरण- पुनरुत्थान याचे आकलन होत नाही. येशूने सांगितलेला निवडीचा मार्ग हा दुःखसहन व यातना यांचाजरी असला तरी आपल्या सर्वांच्या सार्वकालिक जीवनासाठी आवश्यक मार्ग आहे. आपल्या जीवनात येणाऱ्या समस्याचे व दुःखाचे कुस आपण कशाप्रकारे स्वीकारतो ?

प्रार्थना :हे प्रभू येशू, तुझी खरी ओळख होण्यास व तुझ्या कृपेचा अनुभव घेण्यास आम्हाला प्रेरणा दे, आमेन.
