जो माझ्यामागून येतो तो माझ्यापुढे झाला आहे कारण तो माझ्यापूर्वी होता,

आपण आनंद आणि उल्हास करु या कारण आता देवाचा शोध घेण्यासाठी आपल्याला कुठे जाण्याची गरज नाही. आपले शरीर, मन, बुध्दी आणि अंत:करणाची प्रत्येक हालचाल, आपले विचार व कृती याद्वारे प्रभूचे अस्तित्व जाणण्याचा व अनुभवण्याचा प्रयत्न करु या. तो आहे, अगदी आपल्याबरोबर आणि आपल्यामध्ये आहे. आपल्या सर्वांच्या जीवनाशी तो एकरुप झाला आहे. तो आपल्या परस्परांच्या बोलण्यामध्ये आहे. तो आपल्या कामामध्ये आहे. तो आपल्याबरोबर सहभोजन करीत आहे. तो आपल्याबरोबर प्रवासात आहे. तो अनेकांमार्फत बोलत आहे. तो सर्वकाही ऐकत आहे. निरागस बालकांमध्ये तो दिसत आहे. निसर्गातील प्रत्येक हालचालीतून त्याची चाहूल लागत आहे. तो आपल्या सुख-दुःखाशी एकरुप झाला आहे. अशा प्रकारे प्रभु येशूचे आपल्या मधीलअस्तित्व आपण अनुभवण्याचा आज प्रयत्न करु या.
आपल्याला प्रभू येशूच्या जन्मोत्सवाचा आनंद इतरांबरोबर वाटता यावा आणि त्याचे अस्तित्व अनुभवता यावे म्हणून सतत प्रयत्नशील राहू या

"अखिल जगात देवाने केलेले तारण दिसेल."
जो सुवार्ता सांगतो, शांतीची घोषणा करतो, शुभवृत्त विदित करतो, तारण जाहीर करतो, तुझा देव राज्य करीत आहे असे सियोनला म्हणतो, त्याचे पाय पर्वतावरून येताना किती मनोरम दिसतात. तुझ्या जागल्यांचा हा शब्द ऐक, ते एकदम उच्च स्वराने गात आहेत. कारण परमेश्वर सियोनला परत येत आहे हे ते प्रत्यक्ष पाहत आहेत. येरुशलेमच्या उद्ध्वस्त झालेल्या स्थलांनो, आनंदघोष करा. सर्व मिळून गा. कारण परमेश्वराने आपल्या लोकांचे सांत्वन केले आहे. त्याने यरुशलेमला उद्धारले आहे. परमेश्वराने सर्व राष्ट्रांपुढे आपल्या पवित्र हाताची अस्तनी मागे सारली आहे. साऱ्या सृष्टीला आमच्या देवाने केलेले तारण दिसून येईल.

First Reading : : Isaiah 52: 7-10
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, and that preacheth peace: of him that sheweth forth good, that preacheth salvation, that saith to Sion: Thy God shall reign! The voice of thy watchmen: they have lifted up their voice, they shall praise together: for they shall see eye to eye when the Lord shall convert Sion. Rejoice, and give praise together, O ye deserts of Jerusalem: for the Lord hath comforted his people: he hath redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord hath prepared his holy arm in the sight of all the Gentiles: and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

प्रतिसाद : सर्व दिशांनी देवाचे तारण पाहिले आहे
१) परमेश्वराचे गुणगान नवे गीत गाऊन करा. कारण त्याने अद्भुत कृत्ये केली आहेत. त्याच्या उजव्या हाताने, त्याच्या पवित्र बाहूने तारण साधले आहे.
२) परमेश्वराने स्वत: सिद्ध केलेले तारण प्रकट केले आहे. राष्ट्रासमक्ष आपले न्यायीपण प्रकट केले आहे. इस्राएलच्या घराण्यावरील आपली दया व सत्यता यांचे त्याने स्मरण केले आहे.
३)पृथ्वीच्या सर्व दिशांनी आमच्या देवाचे तारण पाहिले आहे. अहो, पृथ्वीवरील सर्व लोकहो, उच्च स्वराने, आनंदाने गा.
४)परमेश्वराचे गुणगान वीणेवर करा. वीणेवर सुस्वर स्तोत्र वाजवा. कर्णा व शिंग वाजवून परमेश्वर राजासमोर जयघोष करा.

देव प्राचीन काळी अंशाअंशानी व प्रकाराप्रकारांनी व संदेष्ट्यांच्याद्वारे आपल्या पूर्वजांशी बोलला. तो ह्या काळाच्या शेवटी पुत्राच्याद्वारे आपल्याशी बोलला आहे. त्याने त्याला सर्व गोष्टींचा वारस करून ठेवले आणि त्याच्याद्वारे त्याने विश्व निर्माण केले हे त्याच्या गौरवाचे तेज व त्याच्या तत्त्वाचे प्रतिरूप असून आपल्या सामर्थ्याच्या शब्दाने विश्वाधार आहे, आणि पापांची शुद्धी केल्यावर तो ऊर्ध्वलोकी राजवैभवाच्या उजवीकडे बसला. ज्या मानाने त्याला वारसाहक्काने देवदूतांपेक्षा श्रेष्ठ नाव मिळाले आहे त्या मानाने तो त्यांच्यापेक्षा अधिक श्रेष्ठ आहे. कारण त्याने कोणत्या देवदूताला कधी असे म्हटले :"तू माझा पुत्र आहेस,आज मी तुला जन्म दिला आहे?" आणि पुन्हा "मी त्याला पिता असा होईन आणि तो मला पुत्र असा होईल ?" आणि तो पुन्हा श्रेष्ठ पुत्राला जगात आणतो तेव्हा तो म्हणतो :"देवाचे सर्व दूत त्याला नमन करोत."हा प्रभूचा शब्द आहे.

(प्रारंभी शब्द होता आणि शब्द देवासह होता आणि शब्द देव होता. तोच प्रारंभी देवासह होता. सर्व काही त्याच्याद्वारे झाले आणि त्याच्यावाचून झाले असे काहीच नाही. त्याच्याठायी जीवन होते व ते जीवन मनुष्यमात्रांचा प्रकाश होते. तो प्रकाश अंधारात प्रकाशतो तरी अंधाराने त्याला ग्रासले नाही.) देवाने पाठवलेला एक मनुष्य प्रकट झाला. त्याचे नाव योहान. तो साक्षीकरिता म्हणजे त्या प्रकाशाविषयी साक्ष देण्याकरिता आला, यासाठी की, त्याच्याद्वारे सर्वांनी श्रद्धा ठेवावी. हा तो प्रकाश नव्हता, तर त्या प्रकाशाविषयी साक्ष देण्याकरिता आला होता. (जो खरा प्रकाश प्रत्येक मनुष्याला प्रकाशित करतो तो जगात येणार होता. तो जगात होता व जग त्याच्याद्वारे झाले, तरी जगाने त्याला ओळखले नाही. आपल्या स्वकीयांकडे तो आला तरी त्यांनी त्याचा स्वीकार केला नाही. परंतु ज्यांनी त्याचा स्वीकार केला त्यांना म्हणजे त्याच्या नावावर श्रद्धा ठेवणाऱ्यांना त्याने देवाची मुले होण्याचा अधिकार दिला. त्यांचा जन्म रक्त, अथवा देहाची इच्छा, अथवा मनुष्याची इच्छा यांपासून झाला नाही, तर देवापासून झाला आणि शब्द मानव झाला, त्याने आम्हांमध्ये वस्ती केली व आम्ही त्याचे गौरव पाहिले. ते पित्यापासून आलेल्या एकुलत्या एकाचे गौरव असावे असे अनुग्रह व सत्य त्यांनी परिपूर्ण होते.) त्याच्याविषयी योहान साक्ष देतो आणि जाहीररीत्या म्हणतो : जो माझ्यामागून येतो तो माझ्यापुढे झाला आहे कारण तो माझ्यापूर्वी होता, असे ज्याच्या विषयी मी सांगितले, तो हाच आहे. कारण नियमशास्त्र मोशेद्वारे देण्यात आले होते. कृपा व सत्य ही येशू ख्रिस्ताद्वारे आली, देवाला कोणीही कधीच पाहिले नाही. जो एकुलता एक जन्मलेला देव पित्याच्या उराशी असतो त्याने त्याला प्रकट केले आहे.
प्रभूचे हे शुभवर्तमान

Gospel Reading : John 1: 1-18
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light. That was the true light, which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, he gave them power to be made the sons of God, to them that believe in his name. Who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we saw his glory, the glory as it were of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John beareth witness of him, and crieth out, saying: This was he of whom I spoke: He that shall come after me, is preferred before me: because he was before me. And of his fulness we all have received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses; grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. No man hath seen God at any time: the only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

चिंतन: आजचे शुभवर्तमान आपल्याला आठवण करून देते की, येशू हा शब्द, जो देह बनला आहे; तो सर्व जीवनाचा आणि सर्व अस्तित्वाचे स्रोत आहे. आपण त्याच्याठायी जगतो, वागतो व आहोत. तोच आपल्या जीवनाचा खरा अर्थ आणि आशा आहे. येशू हा जगाचा प्रकाश आहे. जर आपले जीवन येशू बरोबर जोडलेले नसेल तर आपला अनुभव शेवटी अंधाराचा ठरेल. येशू संपूर्ण मानव जातीला अनंत जीवनाची देणगी देतो. जे त्याला स्वीकारतात त्यांना तो देवाच्या कुटुंबाचा भाग बनण्याचा अनुग्रह देतो. देवाच्या कृपेशिवाय आपण देवाला पसंत असलेले जीवन जगू शकत नाही. ही कृपा आपल्याला फक्त येशूद्वारेच मिळते. आपण आपल्या हृदयात येशूला स्वीकारण्यास तयारआहोत का ? आपण आपल्या जीवनाला त्याच्या शब्दांद्वारे मार्गदर्शन करून देतो का? की आपल्याला माहित असूनही आपण त्याच्याकडे जाणीवपूर्वक दुर्लक्ष करतो ? देव मानवाचे रुप घेऊन या धरतीवर जन्मास आला. बाळ येशूचा जन्मदिवस सर्वत्र आनंदाने साजरा करू या.
प्रार्थना : हे प्रभू परमेश्वर, आमच्या तारणासाठी तू आपल्या पुत्राला आम्हामध्ये पाठविले. त्याचे अस्तित्व आणि प्रेम अनुभवण्यास आम्हाला प्रेरणा दे, आमेन.
