St. Isidore, the Farmer
St. Isidore was born at Madrid, Spain, in the latter half of the 12th century. For the greater part of his life he was employed as a laborer on a farm outside the city. Many marvelous happenings accompanied his lifelong work in the fields and continued long after his holy death. He was favored with celestial visions and, it is said, the angels sometimes helped him in his work in the fields. St. Isidore died about the year 1130 and was canonized in 1622 by Pope Gregory XV.
Isidore’s wife, Maria Torribia, also called Maria de la Cabeza, who shared Isidore’s humble and laborious life, as well as his great care for the poor, is a Blessed whose feast is assigned to September 9.
PRAYER: Lord, all creation is Yours, and You call us to serve You by carrying for the gifts that surround us. May the example of St. Isidore urge us to share our food with the hungry and to work for the salvation of mankind. Amen.

दुःख आणि सुख हे माणसाच्या जीवनाचे अविभाज्य भाग आहेत. मात्र अंधाऱ्या रात्रीनंतर जशी पहाट होते तसेच दुःखानंतर सुखाचा आनंद उदय पावतो. विशेषत: आपल्या दु:खाकडे सकारात्मकतेने पाहून त्यातून बोध घेऊन आपण जीवनात मार्गक्रमण करावे हेच प्रभू येशू ख्रिस्ताला अपेक्षित आहे.
स्वर्गीय आनंदाचे सहभागीदार बनण्यासाठी जीवनातील सर्व दु:खाकडे सकारात्मकतेने पाहण्यासाठी आपल्या जीवनात देवाला प्राधान्य देऊ या. देवाच्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे जीवन आचरण करु या. आपल्या शब्दाद्वारे व आचरणाद्वारे इतरांच्या जीवनात आनंद निर्माण करण्यासाठी तत्पर राहू या. प्रथम आपण स्वत: आनंदी आहोत का यावर चिंतन करु या.

"ह्या नगरात माझे पुष्कळ लोक आहेत."
प्रभूने रात्री पौलला दृष्टान्तात म्हटले, “ भिऊ नको, बोलत जा, उगा राहू नको. कारण मी तुझ्याबरोबर आहे आणि तुझे वाईट करायला कोणी तुझ्यावर येणार नाही, कारण ह्या नगरात माझे पुष्कळ लोक आहेत." तो त्यांच्या मध्ये देवाचे वचन शिकवीत दीड वर्ष राहिला.
गल्लियो हा अखया प्रांताचा अधिकारी असता, यहुद्यांनी एकोपा करुन पौलवर उठून त्याला न्यायासनापुढे आणून म्हटले, "हा माणूस लोकांना नियमशास्त्राविरुद्ध देवाला भजायला चिथवतो." तेव्हा पौल बोलण्यासाठी तोंड उघडणार इतक्यात गल्लियोने यहुद्यांना, “अहो यहुद्यांनो, हे प्रकरण गैरशिस्त वर्तनाचे (अथवा दुष्कृतीचे) असते तर मला तुमचे म्हणणे मनावर घेण्यास कारण झाले असते. परंतु हा वाद शब्दांचा, नावांचा किंवा तुमच्या नियमशास्त्राचा आहे तर तुमचे तुम्हीच पाहून घ्या. ह्या गोष्टींची पंचाईत मला नको." असे म्हणून त्याने त्यांना न्यायासनापुढून हाकून लावले. तेव्हा सर्वांनी सभास्थानाचा अधिकार सोस्थेनेस ह्याला धरुन न्यायासनासमोर मार दिला. पण गल्लियोने ह्यांपैकी कोणत्याही गोष्टीची पर्वा केली नाही.
ह्यानंतर पौल तेथे आणखी बरेच दिवस राहिल्यावर बंधुजनांचा निरोप घेऊन तारवात बसून सुरिया देशाला गेला. त्याच्याबरोबर प्रिस्किल्ला आणि अक्विल्लाही गेली. त्याचा नवस होता म्हणून त्याने किंखिया येथे आपल्या डोक्याचे केस कातरुन घेतले.

Acts 18:9-18
When Paul was in Corinth, the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, "Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city who are my people" And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them. But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal, saying, "This man is persuading people to worship God contrary to the law." But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, "If it were a matter of wrongdoing or vicious crime, O Jews, I would have reason to accept your complaint. But since it is a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves. I refuse to be a judge of these things." And he drove them from the tribunal. And they all seized Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him in front of the tribunal. But Gallio paid no attention to any of this. After this, Paul stayed many days longer and then took leave of the brothers and set sail for Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila. At Cenchreae he had cut his hair, for he was under a vow.

उत्साहशब्दांनी देवाचा जयजयकार करा!
कारण परमेश्वर परात्पर आणि भयप्रद आहे,
तो अखिल पृथ्वीचा महान सार्वभौम राजा आहे.
२) तो लोकांना आमच्या ताब्यात देतो,
राष्ट्रांना आमच्या पायांखाली घालतो.
त्याचा आवडता याकोब याला ज्या वतनाचा अभिमान होता,
